I just bought my first rx-8 , new to these types of motors. What can I do to the car to give it a little more power . Without going to turbo or nos.

Not much really.

Racing Beat intake and exhuast will free up some but are mainly just for sound. You can get a high flow cat to free up a few more but don't expect anything beyond 5-10hp total.

Search around the site and you will find reviews on pretty much everything.

The only mod i did is added a K & N filter and it works wonders

Winglebeast, first of all its just a question. You need to Read the link rx8 soldier posted up. Especially the part in red letters. I also read the part that says that there is a search function on the site but it also says its not that good

i dont need you to tell me the rules here mike, if you had serched you would have found that there is a google way to find things better on this site. there is also a sticky that lays out all types of mads called "calling all...." there is also an excellent sticky by MM about tuning your car.

Even if you chose not to search, there are FOUR threads in this section on the front page that ask the exact same question you do, plus FOUR more that ask opinions on intake, exhaust, and AP as first mods.

I have zero sympathy for you, and I will not help you because you are just one of a thousand who do this every day then a month later never sign on to the forums again because you lose interest or find out it cost too much for too little HP.

So before you get on your high horse about me disrespecting you on the forums and report this post (although i find it more argumentative than just flaming since i do point out facts) maybe you should have also read that parts about not posting these type of questions and the importance of searching. In fact you should find my brutal honesty more to the point than the kind of run around MM and jedi would have given you

I didn't ask for ur "sympathy" nor will lose any sleep in the nights to come because I don't have ur "sympathy", And it shows how much u know sir, money has nothing to do with me not wanting to go to a turbo set up. It's more of a warranty situation. I have plenty of money to spend on this car , but if a warranty came with my car , why wast it? So until u know a little more about me, or my intentions for my car u need to keep ur comments to ur self . If u don't like a post just hit the back button on ur phone or computer and it will all go away. I promise . It's very simple. If u need help with that process let me know. Thanks .

I can get you all the bolt ons you need intake, exhaust, chassis reinforcement, etc... you won't get loads of power but you'll get an extra kick

im not saying you don't have money, but I am saying that you are part of the huddled masses that buy this car, find out mods cost a lot for little gain. (like $300 intake for 4HP) or have huge aspirations of turbo or NOS or 300HP NA and then are never heard from again. Maybe you will be one in 50 and stick around. Notice the lack of response to this post? Nobody wants to help someone who wont help themselves. I will most likely get another warning for one of these posts but honestly, everyone is sick of this stuff. And yes I may know nothing about your personal issues or plans for your car.

This isn't a pissing contest, this is a go search and find the info you want rant. I really could care less of anything you think your better than me at, have more of than me, or looks shinier than mine. Your responses are moot. You failed to search, you looked like one of thousands of new guys that wont take time to look stuff up. The reason I care is because these things are cluttering up the forums on a day by day basis, and I am not the only one pissed off about it. These posts are part of the problem with the search function. These are the same people who go into the for sale threads, offer 2k for a 5k turbo kit and then act like someone is trying to rip them off. So go ahead mike, I hope you last the test of time. Hopefully in 2 years you regularly contribute to the forums, figure out a performance trick/upgrade, group buy somethings and become a good rotor head; but than can look back and see how irritating this is.
