Think about it. Synthetic oil does not burn very well.

WOW, not into a synthetic oil is bad for rotaries conversation...ghey. Been done, nothing proven. BTW, most decent 2 stroke is synthetic anyways so running a sohn adapter with 2 stroke defies your logic.

What about Idemitsu Rotary Premix, AMSOIL Saber Professional both synthetics?

Yeah... engine oil and 2stroke oil burns differently even if both are synthetic.

My question is has anyone taken an OMP off the 8 and cleaned it down when they did an oil change? If so how much of a PITA was it to bleed the system when you disconnected the lines? How did you clean it? And from what I've read the typical rate is 1 qt every 3k miles should be consumed or is that with the AP flash only. Since getting the car from the dealer used a few months ago I presume it should already have the latest flash that bumped the oil consumption rate up... but assumptions are a dangerous thing.
I understand both statements regarding the sohn adapter. It does not resolve the issue of delivering lubrication to the center of the apex seal. Premix from the splatter effect has a shot at it and has proven itself viable for decades. Numerous rotary race teams remove the mop completely and use straight premix on the Renesis.

I don't see the point in removing and cleaning the unit unless you have reason to believe it doesn't work. 1 quart every 3 K sounds about right and if you purchased from a dealer they should have you on the latest flash. If you really want to know call MNAO and be ready with your VIN number and they should be able to tell you.

Couldn’t I just cap off the nipple on the OMP adapter and just premix?

I would rather use the 2stoke reservoir for my windshield washer fluid.
Just to get back to your original question...

I would disconnect the OMP completely if you do this (power connectors) otherwise you might build up a vacuum if your cap is too tight or suck in air if it isn't (not sure how big a deal that is).

Personally I'm more a fan of premixing than OMP since the OMP simply drips oil onto a single line inside the housing. I'm trying to find the picture that shows a single polished line inside a scorched housing, really shows how inadequate the OMP is in the first place.

And make sure you come out to M&M at some point so we can drool over your turbo setup when it's done.
