Ride is a little harder, handling is just as good or better, and I would like to say the the MPG had gone up, but I also ran 89 octane in the last 2 tanks - for cost.

With my car, the "dont drive with a lead foot and you'll get the 18 your supposed to" doesnt apply. I have the MS CAI. Didn't help. That's all I've done so far.
But! If i shift uner 4000 RPMs all the time, with a redline a day I get like 16.2-16.4 constantly. Shifting at 6000-6500 through the gears gets me about 17.1-17.5.
But yes...intakes claim to save you a little bit gas mileage if you drive it unchanged and nicely...I have yet to see it.

it was hard to do it for the ENTIRE tank.. mainly because i love redlining it every once in a while... AND because it's actually good for the engine...it also got difficult because it was the summertime.. and in fl, we get heavy rain almost daily. i remember a few times i'd actually drive around all fogged up because i refused to do ANYTHING that could affect my fuel efficiency lol. if it ever got too fogged up inside i'd crack the window and get a little wet...
anyway, all those inconveniences were in vain because i actually got a lower mileage of like 17.8 something... if anything you could say it's pretty much the same mileage.. but even still.. that means you can pretty much drive it moderately hard regularly and you'll get the same if not better mileage..
the only thing i didn't and WOULD NOT try was to drive with the windows up the entire tank w/o using AC. i always cruise w/ windows down.. but since it's local driving mostly i figured drag wouldn't factor in as much. but like i said, i'm not going to try that. not even in the "winter" time. just too uncomfy.

When I first got my car, my mpg was around 14-15. Now, I have the RB Revi and duct, RP high flow cat, hks exhaust, flywheel, and aftermarket wheels that I keep at 45psi. I get about 19mpg with agressive driving now. It may be because of the mods, but I read that the mpg naturally goes up in this car with more miles. I also tried to get a best mpg for one tank of gas (i.e. no AC, driving 60mph on the freeway, VERY slow accellerations) and got 21.5mpg 50/50 city/highway.
One more fact: one time the dealer overfilled the engine oil by 1 quart and my mpg went down ~1mpg. So keep an eye out for overfilled oil.

well its not really in normal cars... buyt in the 8 lows rpms run rich, and high rpms.. are.. well.. high rpms, i think mazda recommends shifting between 5-6k...
whats worse 1/2-3/4 (acc hard) throttle to 4k or 1/4-1/2 (acc slow but higher rpm) throttle to 5-6k?

my very quote that appears often is "before you flame me i searched"
i believe alot of new searches just cover the past 60 days, you have to do a complete search to the beginning.
