Yeah...even though it might be the female end, I still don't like things flopping around that could eventually short. Also, being in Florida our humidity is pretty high and we see a lot of rain, so I'd be a little leery of moisture as well. Not that I'm making it water tight by this method.......but if you have the required stuff(even f'ing electrical tape.......which I hate), don't be lazy and do it. It's really not required in this case since I believe we are taking about just that one wire, but what the hell.
