mazsport ignition solution

just installed the mazsport coils and all i can say is WOW!!!!!!!!!! definitly a MUST have... car performs better in everyway and in all gears low end much more responsive, top end pulls alot harder, idle is silky smooth if i didnt have exhaust i couldnt even tell that the car was on. installation was very easy great detailed instuctions from mazsport. definitly a noticeable mod and one of the better mods for an 8 and i highly recommend it...

Dam Mike, why you going to make me late on my car payment just to buy this LOL

Mazurfer 08-18-2008 07:44 AM

Had it for a couple of months now and am happy with it.
Keep an eye on your exhaust tips and tell me if they don't seem to be cleaner over time. Just an interesting observation that some of us have noticed.

it should. Any ignition system we have over stock will burn cleaner.

DOMINION 08-20-2008 12:04 AM

Sweet! I'll pay you to install it Mike lol :)

quazmosis 08-21-2008 09:09 AM

I am in the middle of installing this however I have a couple questions on what certain stuff is, and why I'm doing it. It allways helps me understand things.

1. I guess I dont know what you call it but the black thing that looks like a miniture audio amp. First off what is it? Second I have it bolted on, but on the right side, (towards the back of car) that bolt just tightens? Theres nothing on the car that it bolts to? The left side bolts up, but wondering about the right side.

2. I think it was step 11ish, where Im switching the positions of the blue line and red line.
a. Are they both fuel lines?
b. why did I do that? What purpose does that serve switching the 2 lines around in the clamps?

3. The black shrink wrap piece of tubeing. The end that it goes on, is that not needed? What was that end for? I believe it was the female end on the car.

Sorry about the stupid questions just helps me understand the car better.

quazmosis 08-21-2008 05:18 PM

^ disregard that. I talked to Mazport today and they cleared up everything for me. What a great bunch of guys.

mazsport Ignition

Accually I was wondering the same thing myself on all your points

can you post what they said?

Thanks
Tony

DOMINION 08-22-2008 06:22 AM

Did it come with directions?

quazmosis 08-22-2008 09:12 AM

Accually I was wondering the same thing myself on all your points
1. That black this is basically an amp. That supplies the power to the coils. Yes the bolt at the back of the car on it just tightens it. It will snug up the fastener so the amp thingy is straight and doesnt wobble.

2. The purpose of switching the fuel lines in the clamps was to give you more room when you instal the harness. I think it gives you an extra inch and a half.

3. The black shrink thing is the factory plug in from the condenser (If i remember right) No its not needed anymore. Since the mazsport wiring harness has that female end, your using that in place of the factory female connection. Yep just put the rubber tubing on shrink it up and seal it off.

Did it come with directions?
Yes it did. Pretty impressive directions too. colored pictures put in a nice little binder thingy. My only complant is the pictures (and I dont know what they can do to help this) but sometimes it was hard seeing what was in the pics. Sometimes their talking about a black wire, in a rats nest of wires, against a black background. Most times I found myself standing and looking at the pics for 10 mins before I did anything just to make sure I was doing it right. I wasnt even close to the hour time frame they suggest. I was WAY over.

Mazurfer 08-22-2008 12:47 PM

Yeah.............I took the directions the night before the install and really looked them over vs. the writing until I was satisfied I knew what I was looking at. Sometimes that took pretty long due to the nature of the pics, but overall..........not too bad.

TThell 08-22-2008 02:29 PM

Thanks Quazmosis

that really helps, I was kind of thinking the same thing as you about that female connector just staying unplugged, but if it is not need no prob

Tony

Mazurfer 08-22-2008 02:36 PM

Wrap it up tight as someone said. Best to shrink tube it if you can and then squeeze the end of the heat shrink while hot to close it off.

the_duke313 08-22-2008 05:12 PM

if u dont heat up and close the end of that shrink tube wat bad things could happen?

quazmosis 08-22-2008 05:25 PM

In theory I'd imagine that could make a connection someplace it shouldnt touch. But If i remember correctly, its a female plug, so I dont think it could hurt if its flopping around in there un shrunk. I'd like other feedback from others on this as well. That's a good question.

AJ's Shinka 08-22-2008 06:26 PM

Mike, may i partake in a little test drive??? :yesnod:
