It has been shown in this type of modification that there is the potential for heater temps to be affected slightly. This is why we are conducting this real world testing to assess whether it's noticeable and or acceptable. Up to certain temperatures the rate of heating should be identical to stock. After that, our thermostat is regulating, in conjunction with the other items in your cooling system, to try to maintain the best range in the battle against excessive block temperatures.

Let us remember this general thought: The manufacturer has goals, requirements and contraints. The end user may have a slightly different take on their wants and needs. We (RX8 owners) have chosen these cars due to how close these two perspectives seem to be. The purpose of the RE-medy line is to bridge the gap between what the Manufacturer gave us and what we need.

We've changed the thermostat from being our adversary to our ally in the battle .

Paul.

That's what I need to hear. If it seems normal related to heater temps we are on target in that aspect at least. We've done our homework but this real world application is essential.

What are your warm temps? What is your gauge reading cruising in this ambient?

the temp gauge starts moving and stay around 80 Celsius in the first 5-10 minutes of driving (with Stock thermo, the needle will move and stay around 85-87)

Cruising temp - between 78-102 Celsius (depends on Traffic), with stock thermo, its about 82-105 Celsius

outside temp was about 38-43 F

Im trying to get my laptop to work again, stupid thing is not booting up for some reason(time for a netbook maybe?)

I shall monitor the coolant temps now. And heater output temps.
Then change the thermostat.
I shall then repeat the process with the new thermostat. I shall use my Infrared temp gun on various points around the car an let you know my results.
As well as the Accessport readings on engine temperature before and after thermostat change..

Thanks again Paul!

Nope but it would work VERY nicely with something like that .

with something like AP/RB flash that turns fan on sooner + Thermostat like Mazmart's.

you can get the coolants to be "cooler" than Stock temp. so after the fans shut off, it takes *longer* before the coolant gets "boiling" again.

Win Win

btw Paul, I cant really test the heat today cuz ... it was like 55-60 degrees during the day and at night it was 45 ... not cold enough

I will keep trying and report any temp readings

And of course, our water pump (RE-medy high flow) is able to do it's job properly without opposition from the the thermostat.

It's reassuring that you have crossed the t's and dotted the i's. My first reaction was "so what, colder thermostat", but I see you've put serious thought into it, even consulting MM about the ECM impact. Very nice. I'm convinced

I look forward to a pump and thermostat package price.
