He just called me back finally! No, we've never met or talked. I've just had his number for a while and he never answers.

For all those (including myself) following this thread, is there a good place to go and learn more about porting rotary (or piston) engines, so that we might have a better understanding about what is being discussed?

Yeah. I tend to leave my cell phone off 99% of the time. It's nice to finally have the chance to talk to you, rotarygod.

Monito.com has alot of good info about the rotary from history to racing to porting. The single best way to learn about it is to do it. Unfortunately most people do not have access to these engines taken apart. some do though. The first one I ever played with was a junkyard 12A rotary from a 1st gen RX-7. Me and a friend bought it just to play with it and learn how it worked. Anyone is Houston is more than welcome to come and see the one's that I have taken apart and ported.

What questions do you have about porting that you need answered.

ive been looking for awhile to get my hands on an old one to take apart. i have a chance to get my hands on a 12a from an 84 right now. of course now i dont really have time to play with it. and my money has to go to painting two rooms and getting the one ready for the baby. i could have the engine for like 200 and the whole car for 500 i just dont have the room for the whole thing or the time to play with the motor.

That thread is referring to a 2nd gen RX-7 engine not the RX-8.
