Well on that note this car seems pointless in all aspects when it comes to adding this or that.

the problem is, most people does 1/2 *** work and expect magical results. then turn around and blame the car, not their own dumb self.

I have searched some half *** intakes and mods on this car .even some brand new reputable parts, but it seems to show in every thread if top dollar isn't spent. The o.p is considered cheap, ghetto, or stupid and... lacking of common decency and... must be considered hitler.

My dreams are broken because I don't want to spend 150 for a duct?

Its almost so sad that id prefer to put large sums of money into mods that matter.not a duct that can easily be replicated to perform the same objective.

Not trying to sound like jerk. Just not a justified investment when the same result will occur

If you would have done the research on this car BEFORE you purchased it. It would have saved you MANY headaches. Everyone on this forum understands that our engine as well as our vehicle itself is a work of art. Each one a blank canvas ready for it's new owner to paint into a picture. This being the case, we are going to pay more for our parts. It's about the passion of the car, Not the cost.

now going on two years of owning my rx8.

Your last two statements contradict each other...

What "headache" do you speak of ? Ive been tinkering of the Idea on a cold air duct, rather than continuing to have the stock "cold air" intake stand in an area where the air is pretty stagnant.
But besides the usual "just stick with stock theory" there is nothing brought to the table. Exceptions include a few threads I have found.

not joining the **** fight but i like the AEM one I found on BHR's site. it looks to give a bit more under the hood, it looks nice, the idea of better performance is being argued, but no one is saying ill suffer a lose in preformance

There is no performance lose with the AEM as well as the Racing Beat cold air intakes.

The price of the aem intake is going low. 288 is the lowest I found.

I have a Mazdaspeed/AEM CAI in my 40th AE RX8 and you get a small hp bump. better performance and a slight mpg bump. Very reliable, just a plug and play item and worth the cost.

Dillion Phelps,
AEM, Mazdaspeed, Racking beat, or don't bother. The gains will typically be 5HP or less.

FYI the AEM and Mazdaspeed are exactly the same CAI. The Mazdaspeed gave you a one year warranty from Mazda. They are hard to still find, but the AEM is readily available from many suppliers

You are correct. I have the MS part. I just listed them separately it in case he saw one for sale. Regardless, I wouldn't touch anything except for one of those 3.

It is pure physics on why a good CAI will give you a bump in HP if you have cooler air taken in.

Yea the stock is a little better. With some modification it can be MUCh better. A CAI is mainly for the look of it. As long as your not Reducing the amount of cold air. It's fine.

After having a shitty K&N typhoon it was time to build a new intake. ive noticed that most of the intakes on the market for these cars dont use an air straightener, and alot of them have the vac lines too close to the maf sensor. here is my first prototype, i will be building a box and duct for the filter later this week, then ill test it out on the dyno. im already designing v2 with all the vac lines under the pipe hidden. Let me know what you guys think/ideas for improvement.

Why do you think this is any better than the factory intake and box?
