Installed greddy turbo kit & will not hold idle

hey guys wanted to see if i can get some help. i installed the greedy turbo kit on my rx8 today with the interceptor x & i went to start the car now it will not hold idel. i got the kit used. i dont what to do. i think that it might have to be tunned so that it works, and it also sputters when u step on the accelerator. if tuning is the issue does anyone know a good dyno shop in san diego.

It's kind of hard to tell what the deal is from your post...could be anything....but my guess would be tuning. Take it to a shop and be done with it....and stay out of boost! You do not want to risk blowing the motor when it's not tuned.

when you ask questions, please be specific......
did you log in to the computer to check the INT-X? does it have the map? what type of map? is the interceptor locked? because when it was locked in mine, it couldn't idle at all.

is there any leaks? did you check all the connections and pipings?
check everything first....

If you are not intimately acquainted with tuning the Int-X, you need to find someone that is IMMEDIATELY.

they all think it's plug an play, without thinking about if there is a map or not....

u should go for AP which is better because you just have greddy turbo and you don't need to have someone tunes for you anymore

If they are charging $200/hr for dyno & tune then thats around 6.5 hrs, some places can charge $300/hr or more, which would be around 4 hrs. Yeah it could take 4-6 hrs to get a perfect tune, its not unheard of, the person tuning must be running into problems or going for perfection at multiple boost settings. What type of gas did you ask for, what boost settings did you ask for?

they say the interceptor x had no map & getting a hold of mazsport is not possible, but they are getting the hole thing down to perfect so that their is no issues.

Do you have stock injectors? I have a map for 93 octane, send me a PM if you need it.

I know this is kindof a late response- The idleing issues could be because of the MAF/ atmospheric BOV combo. the easiest way to fix this is to run a recirculating pipe from the BOV to the intake pipe after the MAF.

The MAF reads the air that goes into the system and adds feul accordingly, so it does not account for any air lost In the system, everytime the BOV releases air. Since it does not account for this, there are often super rich feul conditions between shifts and often results in stalling when coming to a fast stop.

As for the regular idling issues on start-up, the air filter may need to be cleaned?

^^ haha, I realize this probably isnt much help if you are having it tuned but, It explains exhaust flames and stalling at stoplights

Did you get the car back from the shop yet?

The int-x is map based, it makes no use of the maf. If he were running the cobb this could/would be an issue.

For sure, with the INTx a BOV to atmos is no problem!

All the maps are stored on to the laptop dongle that should have came with the int-x. Connect the int-x to your laptop and laptop dongle and check what map it is running on. If it doesn't show then you have to load the map with the Microtech software. I was lost a couple times using Microtech but eventually figured it out.

About the MAF, you *DO* need a good working MAF sensor. My MAF sensor went bad once, threw CEL and TCS light and it would not idle, I had to give it some gas to keep it running. It is tuned with MAP but the stock computer requires the MAF sensor.

Dynojets give a higher rating than Mustang, but those are still great numbers. The torque is a huge improvement over stock! congrats!
