Hesitation after CAI install

Hesitation after CAI install
Anyone have issues with hesitation around 7k after installing a CAI? Sounds like I am hitting a rev limiter when pushing the car hard. I have a 2005 so I have the 3 vacuum hose setup. there was a tiny vacuum hose plug in the bag, but I saw no mention if installing plugs unless the car was a 2010. Any thoughts?

Check to ensure your MAF screen is tighly secured inside the intake pipe! When I installed my BHR ignition I thru my intake together rather quickly so I could get on the road and check out the improvement. Ended up having rough idle and very lean AFRs... It was because my MAF screen was SIDEWAYs inside the intake pipe. G/L

I know that. What I was explaining is that if you do not tighten the couplers/seat it in the grooves properly then the screen can become dislodged and turn sideways inside the pipe. When this happened to me my 8 behaved similarly to the OPs....

What Darth explained is a rather common problem upon AEM installation (even though AEM tried to design it with this in mind); the couplers and screens can become misaligned and all sorts of metering problems will result, sometimes bad enough to cause a seeming "limp mode" issue.

Took all the couplers and pipes out in that area and 1 may have been a hair off? hard to say. The other thing I noticed was the pipe section going into the coupler at the upper tie bar, was slightly misaligned. I rebuilt that section of the Intake piping (2 screen couplers and 2 sections of pipe) out of the car with the pipes firmly pressing the screens into their seats. I placed that complete unit into the car all at once and made adjustments with the other couplers. After my first test drive it didn't hesitate once, so I hope I got it now. Man the MAF is sensitive on the 8, that is crazy.

I am trying to get to the race track this weekend to see where the car needs help after the install of the intake and coil overs.
Thanks again for everyone's help on this
