I am going to print shop manual out, and Im studying like 2 hours a day at local book store now, just trying to read as much as I could, do all my homework before I take my car apart.

The car might just end up in the shop, by a tow bed. but hey, I like to take risk :P

Well I just need somebody to be around just to make sure that I will not do anything wrong but some work just came up and I gotta take care of those first ..... it shouldnt be long ... maybe a week or 2.

I will let you know ASAP, if you need a night or 2 of hotel room I can arrange that for you as well (its on me, so dont worry about the price, and dont worry its going to be a REAL hotel, not motel or some **** )

 

I trust you man. but I just thought that I want my buddy buddy to have a nice comfortable stay.

ya, my transmission just went crazy within the past 2 days... So my 8 is in the garage, but I got that ACT clutch/flywheel combo off of rx7store.net coming in... Also AP's underdrive and K&N's intake (all within a week, I wonder if my butt dyno will notice a difference)...

Only question I'm asking is that my powertrain is still under warranty, and they will install both the flywheel and clutch for 270 bucks... I plan on taking the offer, only problem is that if it doesn't work.... I know it will, I mean it comes in a set, but if it doesn't I'd have to pay some 900 just too have it taken apart back to stock...

 

If they're working on your tranny, you should've offer them 150 to do the install, since Mazda already covered the cost to take the tranny down.

Maybe I should go complain about my tranny too (make some **** up) and see if they will do it .... then Im gonna offer this kind of *deal* .... lol

 

um, I'm not complaining....

I can't engange 2nd, gotta force it forward too get into 1st... It makes a train noise in 4th, a moderate grinding noise in 3rd, and a slight grinding noise in 6th... I was on the highway for 20 miles in 5th trying to get home... This isn't some "deal", my transmission is "the broken"

okay, so my flywheel/clutch combo comes in tomorrow... Most probably will be done on Monday... I'll post my feedback then...

 

Damn it, I cant do it yet, I still gotta wait at least another week or 2, even tho ALL my parts are here

Speeddemon32 and I are installing another ACT flywheel/clutch combo today, well make sure to get feedback on later today.

I re-check my packages again, it seems that Fidanza Flywheel COMES WITH counterweight bolts. Please add a note to it. (In the other words, do NOT buy extra bolts from Mazda, it will be a waste of money, just like what I did )

casey and keith installed the act on my car today. hahah it feels GREAT. its sooo damn light compare to stock. it doesnt lag as much. good mod fshooooo

 

looks like we'll be doing it again though.....Peter forgot his pressure plate and pilot bearing We'll see if we can beat the 5 hour time on the "re-install"....

 

hahah hopefully we will. man i can't believce i didn't check the box all the way!!! argh!!! hahah

well update on my situation... a Mazda representative came to my dealership (or so my service provider says), and came too the conclusion to simply give me a whole new transmission! He says that it was so destroyed that it would be cheaper too give me a new one... I wouldn't doubt that at all... A 6-speed with 9,000
RPM's is tricky as hell to drive when your most experience has been from a 5-speed Geo Tracker

I'm glad this happened 8,000 miles before my drivetrain warranty expired, or I'd be having serious debt... Thanks Mazda! You just bought yourself a customer for life!

 

ya, I did some bad shifting... Still not that good at shifting... I'm hoping I'll get better with my Stainless steel clutch line and some sort of short shifter....

The 2nd gear synchro went out first though, I think it's because I would shift roughly from 1st too 2nd... Hopefully with the flywheel I can still shift as fast without breaking anything...

 

Now you guys makes me wanna get a short shifter to go with my flywheel install.

 

Making a pedal brace ...sign me up for one if you are...the pedal flexes all over the place.....
