yeah man you should be happy you are getting a new engine. Hopefully they dont do anything stupid when installing it and it all ends perfectly fine.

So how long did it take them to do the compression test? As I've mentioned previously, my car has been in the shop since early yesterday morning and I'm STILL waiting for the results of the compression test. Didn't you just drop yours off this morning?

Ja, you got that right. An aftermarket coil continues the pull in that range.

They give special consideration to job seekers who check off the Moron/Idiot box on the application form

Well guys, I will be getting a new engine too. I talked to the shop this afternoon and they said they put the new starter in, but also said the engine failed the compression tests. So I'm picking it up tomorrow and waiting for the engine to arrive in a few days.

So Charles, you definitely think we should rip the BHR coils out of there? I was planning to just tell them not to remove the wires from the coil terminals when they took everything out... but who knows if they'll follow my instructions.

well cars already at dealership they kept it to try to fix clutch pedal assembly or something and they saw the coils and didnt make a big deal of them and i will call and tell them to not take wires off coils and ill raise hell if they tried to keep my kit from me

fannin & Olorin, if you're lucky, you'll get the BHR coils and wires back in semi-usable condition, but they will install new stock coils and wires and charge you an ungodly amount of money for it. They will say that is the only way Mazda allows them to replace your engine.

so if you screwed the pooch with a wires, are they going completely dead or just getting a high resistance connection and losing some of the voltage?

ie will an inductive ignition timing light pick up a potential problem or when I pull my snow tires off should i pull the plugs and inspect them for something strange?

r0tor: an inductive timing light will help you troubleshoot, it's what I used to find a broken wire.
if the light doesn't fire...something's wrong. (most likely a wire)

so failure mode is usually a complete failure vs just creating a high resistance connection therefore the timing light should pick it up?

in my experience, a broken wire = no flashing at all from timing light.

I didn't even notice the afr's because it was misfiring so bad I didn't want to push it. I don't think the tune is the problem though because it runs like a beast with the OEM coils and wires.

Make sure there are not any air leaks.
So... you haven't tuned it yet since you installed the Greddy upgrade turbo?

already uninstalled them and sending them back, sorry.

I didn't want to drive the car in that condition anyways. It felt like I was going to break something.

Thanks Erick. These things happen. I appreciate the concern and all the efforts that went in to addressing this issue.

Of course making our customers happy is our number one priority. But I just want to know what the F*** is going on with your kit.
