Damn Charles, what did you do to it? Did you rebuild the engine? I assume you have Headers, midpipe with exhaust, BHR ignition with Yukon coils and MM's AccessPort?

1) I rebuilt my engine a few years ago (it now has 60K miles on the rebuild and 110K on the housings), Rotarygod did some porting but that didn't effect the mass-airflow, just the SHAPE of the torque curve. My engine wakes up real nice at about 3,000 RPMs. I think my compression numbers would be lucky to be in the high-7s right now.

2) I have the BHR Ignition System, AP tuned by MM (but we still have a little tweaking to do and we might have 10 h.p. hiding somewhere), a Fidanza flywheel that I bought before I started BHR (I am soon to install the BHR Flywheel and Stage 2+ clutch kit), BHR prototype midpipe, Borla cat-back, SR Motorsports underdrive pulleys, and I have yet to get a solid pull with nitrous on the dyno.

3) Bobby (Punisher_RX8) had Kane tune his engine after I installed a BHR Flywheel and a nitrous system and Bobbby got some SERIOUSLY impressive rwhp numbers with a 55 shot, something like 250-260. I am not sure what he had without the shot, though.

4) The general idea is that we are seeing 47 additional rwhp with a set of .017/.032 jets ("55" shot) on a nitrous system.

1 of these...

actually two of these and put it on harry's tab.

(kidding i couldn't help myself), seriously though... the RX8 could probably take the z on a curvy track course but straight away is a different story, you could:

-strip out the interior, run no cat, with bigger injectors and a tune

**Nitrous would probably get you to your goal, but it would send a stock motor into the ground**

or you could swap in a 2005 350z VQ :]

Really? Tell that to the dozens of people to whom I have sold nitrous systems and tutored on proper installation. I have YET to have a customer lose an engine as a result of following my advice. It is when they don't that problems ensue.

Why would you want bigger injectors on a NA 8?

What's the deal with Easy blowing so many intake manifolds? Why doesn't he follow your advice?

We classified that as "product development" and, truth be told, neither Easy nor MazdaManiac listened to me and played around with all sorts of stuff between the AP and nitrous. Do you ALWAYS think your boss knows WTF he is doing? Most people don't and they learn the hard way. Here's the "official" propaganda on such matters;

"BHR, in our efforts to create new frontiers for the RX-8 and their owners prefer to sacrifice our own cars for the sake of discovery rather than the cars and engines of our customers."

Besides, a new manifiold and 15 minutes later Easy was back on the road.

We iz purfeshinuls, Spanky.

there are also vids of 8's beating ms6 and ms3's

like the others said if u picked this car for speed, your gonna have to spend a good amount of cash to make it fast, whats the point of street racing? take it the track around twisties and leave that 350 eating dirt.

M3 <> MS3...

Either way... the MZR is 270ish to the crank - and the MS6 weights 3600 lbs; not sure about the 3.
13 lb/hp vs 12.9 lb/hp
Close enough to be a potential drivers race.

Um no, you are confusing the corvette with the mustang. The vette actually does handle damn fine. I went from my C5 vette to my Rx8 and I can tell you the handling difference is negligible. The 8 may handle a bit "lighter" but the vette will still go right where you point it.

Roger that, but I am under the impression that in stock Auto-x, the progression is Miata > RX-8 > C5? I've no idea - was trying to be funny with my response
