Why waste your time asking about how to beat a 350z with the RX-8 in a straight line??? Have you not done any homework before buying the car???

Without any mods, swap the motor, otherwise give up!

Get the twin turbos from an rx7 and put them on your car. You can usually find a good used set on eBay for $450 and that should get you to ~290 hp. Good luck!

the bottom line is that majority of us didn't fall in love with the rx-8 for it's off-the-line speed... if that's on your "must have" list, then visit your local nissan dealer. otherwise, enjoy all the other wonders that this car has to offer and you will be just as happy...

Actually I saw a 350z auto with the plenum spacer beat a manual z by a couple cars.....I bet that guy wasn't too happy....

Perhaps you should either invest in forced induction or sell the car.....go buy a mustang GT....the stang forums could use some dragon power actually

Highest HP ive read about from a non FI 8 with mods was ~201rwhp on the dyno.

I im not sure how much weight you can drop from the 8 besides getting lighter wheels, 2 piece lightweight rotors and taking out the back seats plus truck lin er... Id say all of that would be roughly ~50lbs lost, idk where you would get the other 50 lbs...

and as for the AVG curb weight for a 350Z im sure they are more around 3400lbs., depends on if you had a 08 or not. The 08's weigh like 3500lbs w/out driver... My friend has one and its a pig... Also depends on what year 350z as they went up and up in HP every few years

I got 213 and my engine is rather tired. Plus, I didn't rebuild it the same way a couple years ago like I do them now.

With the right mods and an easy-to-install 55 shot, the RX-8 can beat stock a 350Z. And a stock Evo. And a stock STi. And...........
