Look for the thread titled "Rebuilding My Renesis" that'll tell you all you need to know.

Thumbs up

For those who do not understand the science behind turbo ported 8:
Turbo ported 8 it is when one uses the turbo to power the rotation of a portable 8. A portable 8 is an equivalent to a binary portable 01000, which when powered by the rotation of the turbo can easily be converted to 10010, or even greater.

Once again I would like to remind you that any portable 8 can be converted into the binary portable turbo system system by summing the appropriate multiples of the different powers of two injector cycles and divided by the turbo revolutions plus 100. For example, starting from the right, 10101101 represents (1 x 20) + (0 x 21) + (1 x 22) + (1 x 23) + (0 x 24) + (1 x 25) + (0 x 26) + (1 x 27) + 100= 273 HP (Average relyable stock horse power after the system implementation) .

I hope I am making myself clear.

so , 10101101 represents (1 x 20) + (0 x 21) + (1 x 22) + (1 x 23) + (0 x 24) + (1 x 25) + (0 x 26) + (1 x 27) + 100= 273 HP O i get it

I have done a mild stage 0.5 street port on the renesis side plates. But i am very bad at posting pictures for sure! But if you search for lasse wankel flow numbers you will see some numbers. I think i found 10-12 % more airflow in the plates with only reshaping the ports and not adding more timing.

There are also posts, long ago, by guitarjunkie. He ported his engine before he was killed in an auto accident. There may be some information there.

When are you going to release the dyno of your ported engine?

I remember you mentioning it in another thread.

For anyone hoping to get the same port job done as CRH you're SOL. Fred has adamantly said NEVER AGAIN.

Further, although Lasse has measured increases in airflow that does not necessarily mean more power. You may be able to pick up a little power but the trade-off is that porting the Renesis is FAR more difficult than previous rotaries. Thus, it is a cost vs. power value decision. For anybody who plans on going F/I, I tend to suggest AGAINST porting as the power gained isn't usually worth the money or trouble.

Here's a general concept to keep in mind; although we all think we want the baddest-*** RX-8 on the road, the further we get away from the factory engineering/tuning the narrower the context in which driving the RX-8 can be an enjoyable experience. This is why MazdaManiac, Easy_E1, and I carefully scrutinize the parts we design for the RX-8 and why BHR's product list is very short at this time. It is also why I have a very short list of suggested mods.
great post, and great advice!

No rush, as I said before Fred has clearly stated HE would not port another set of irons in the future. At least unless someone paid him quite a sum of money.

I'm just curious what the results are. It does not seem to be something I'd ever do in the future at this point. So take your time.

Nobody else is going to comment on the fact that this year-old thread was resurrected by somebody asking about the wheels in somebody's sig?
