Well my SS came on Wednesday and I just got it installed this weekend. The 1 - 2 shift is a lot easier now and the overall feel of the shifter is a huge improvement over stock. I can't thank Richard enough for his prompt service. I sent him the money on Saturday and the shifter arrived at my house the following Wednesday. I wasn't expecting it til after Thanksgiving. Great customer service. The shifter is worth every penny.

Everyone who has paid is covered. Two are still here but go Monday to NJ and Canada. After that we are out of the pivot baskets and I'm not sure how fast we can make them. I'm out of town from the 7th until the 11th. I'll be in Orlando and I think I'll get that drink Swoope owes me.
I'll try and find some if any orders come in before I leave.

Installed mine today... I'm still getting used to it. It's harder to shift in terms of going from gear to gear. It has to click into gear whereas before it would be a smooth shift into each next one. I guess this is a good thing because I can be sure that I am in gear before letting off the clutch but it will take some getting used to for me... Never had a STS so... Is this how its supposed to feel or is it just me?

turbo: there's a DIY on the forum, should pop right up with a search.
(sorry, multi-tasking at the office or I'd link it for ya)

I broke the rear right-hand tab on my cover when I was trying to get it off. Others have done the same. Richard recently said on here to grab the boot and yank straight up rather than trying to reach in and release the tab, so that may work better for you.

Just installed mine yesterday. Still have to get used to it, but I can definitely say it's a thing of beauty. And whoever it was that first described it as "Rifle-bolt sure" really couldn't have gotten it any more accurate than that. Rifle-bolt sure is exactly what it is.
The rubber shift boot fastened with 4 10mm nuts was a little annoying. 2 of the plastic nuts holding cables had to come off first which was a silly fiasco. Then the 4 nuts came off no problem, but the underside of that shift boot was a sticky mess. It's like they took a paint brush and slathered some kinda never-dry glue all over it. My hands were a sticky mess when I finally got the boot off. Don't think I've heard anyone mention that before, so I wonder if my case was unique. Maybe someone left a jelly sandwich in my shifter and it disintegrated over 5 years

I got my shifter installed today. It took me about 25mins to do the whole job and I took my time to make sure everything was perfect.
I will also agree with everyone about the "riffle bolt" feel. Much shorter throws and very positive engagement. Reverse also works perfect!
HUGE thanks to Richard for designing such a fantastic products for us!

Cool, that's nice to hear guys.
I got mine this week but didnt have time to install it yet. I know what I'll be doing this weekend.
By the way, do you guys suggest changing tranny oil at the same time?
Also, did you add some grease to it before installing it? (there's already some apply to it, but maybe some more could help make it more smooth?)
I'm getting my tranny/synchro replaced in january 2009, would you recommand waiting till then to install the Axial SS and enjoy its benefit? Or should I do it now anyways?
Just some thought...

I think it won't make much of a difference. I put mine in and it felt pretty perfect from the get go. Unless you are already having shifting problems because of the tranny/synchro, then maybe it won't feel optimal.

Richard, Can I have one of these shipped out to me by Christmas if I pay via PayPal as soon as you arrive from Orlando?
If not, will you have some more available for the new years?
