I have driven mine around a bit as reccommended and nailed it a few times today....

I cant say for sure there is a diference really.

After the flywheel it was reallly OBVIOUS how much better it was, but seeing as I had already done the flywheel (only recently) and was not really fully used to the new flywheel mode of driving, IM not sure if the AP Pulley has really done much yet....

Ill try and make a vid that adds to my flywheel diference vid, so it will be flywheel and Pulley......

I plan on doing this mod within the week... Allready have it ordered... And let me say that "sometimes" particularly cold days I would get some dimming within the car interior or almost for a sec see it in my HID's, I guess with 10000K bulbs you can tell dimming pretty quick...

Man reason is because I got Alpine's MRP-F450 amp with only one 8" L7 (that I blown the rubber and plastic off of... And since then have had to change it from 2 ohm too 8 ohms...) in a vented box with 4 gauge wire

I planned on getting the optima yellow top, but I'm kind of curious to just try it first and see how bad it really can be...

I ordered my AP pulley from chlmotorcycles for $130 and got it yesterday. Thing is super light and shiney! Gonna put it on tommorow. I'm only really worried about how the A/C will hold up in 115 degrees, but after seeing most of these posts I'm not too worried now

i just installed the pulley, quick question, would over tightening the belts be a no no? I know too loose, of course, the belt may slip, but would too tight cuz harm apart from putting too much tension on the belt?

I installed the pulley, took a good few spins around the block. came back. check the belts, seems a bit loose, then was thinking, would I rather have the belt a little bit too loose or a little bit too tight?

Thx

too tight is not good either - can prematurely wear out water pump/alternator bearings .

The belt will stretch to a point as its heated and stretched through normal wear, just make sure there isn't excessive play in the belts. Have someone else rev up your engine while you are watching the belts, if it looks as if they are really really really wobbling a lot then tighten them one to one and a half turns. A fair amount of wobble in higher revs is acceptable though.

thx for the response. let me recap a bit.

installed pulley. drove around the block. hear a bit or rattling around 6krpm. checked belts. seems a bit loose. tightened. drove for a few days. no rattles. didnt drive car for 3-4 days. checked belts. seems to have loosen up again. drove the car. a little bit of rattle around 6k again.

does everything seem normal? :P

the AC yes. the alternator. I dont have a torque wrench with that low of a setting, so pretty much hand tighten.

ok i am now officially a member of the agency power pulley club. i also have a lightened flywheel but i felt the effects of the pulley for sure. it did everything i knew it would......that slight, slight bit of hesitation that comes from getting back on the throttle when your off is gone b/c the pulley is free of the parasitic drag running all the cars accessories. i also noted that the car sounds a little different.....it seems like the exhaust note has changed slightly or that might be the sound of new pulley messing with my ears.

in my opinion this small mod changes the feel of the car immensley. its not like you have so much more power that it affects the feel of the car, but the throttle response and the sound of pulley are very noticable.

BONUS: the first time i revved up my car after getting my lightened flywheel i laughed with joy. after getting the AP pulley installed i did the same and it SOUNDS GREAT!!!! it revvs so quickly it almost sounds like a race car.

why is it that 1 pulley can make so much of a difference?

Well I mean, if you can honestly feel a difference of the way the car drives, it has to be a pretty big difference.

You can really feel the diference a light flywheel makes...... the AP pulley is barely noticeable in comparison......

I installed the AP pulley about a week ago and while I agree it is a slight difference, it's definitely noticeable. That makes me really look forward to getting the lightened flywheel. Installation is the only thing that worries me there. Up to this point, I've done all the work myself, but it was pretty easy stuff. Dropping the tranny seems like a step up. It'll be fun either way though

I just installed my pulley yesterday.. Looks great and feels great i did notice a slight increase in throttle response. The general rule of thumb i use is the belt shouldnt deflect more then a 1/4 of an inch. Ive also heard rules like the deflection should not be more then the width of the belt on the longest span.
