no, I removed the vfad and asked what I should do with the vacuum line and she said to leave it uncapped because she said it pushes air to open the flap and if its capped it cant push air. But my response was and still is "?"

the best thing to do is to remove the entire line and cap it with a rubber cap, or with a screw (like me) and yes, capping it is very important, if not ur idle becomes crap

Well, if you removed VFAD then you wouldn't have the flap that the vacuum line was intended to open.

the check valve seals the opposite direction, you need to cap it

thanks... seems like the popular thing to do is cap it. But one question is still on my mind, should I remove the entire line all the way to the intake manifold, and let the green plug just hang (see pic)

remove everything that is not used . then chop through the wire to the green plug right back at where it comes out of the loom so you don't have mechanics blaming your stray wire for some mysterious fault in the future .

Just remove the hose from the white 90-degree plastic bend and use some silicone and put a screw in the plastic fitting, or but a rubber cap over it. That simple

No, the green plug is an electrical molex connector

When I installed my RB duct, I removed the whole VFAD and capped the rubber line just to the right of where it clips in place above the air inlet hole from the inner fender (looking from the front of the engine bay). Is this OK? I've had it like this for almost a year with no noticeable problems, but my idle isn't the greatest now that I think about it.

If you disconnect the vac hose, that THE VFAD flap will be open full time. this is the only thing you actually need to do.
Pull the hose, and put a screw in it.
