I'd rather see it first before anything else is done. I havent seen an intake that looked good and worked good yet (without making an ear splitting noise).

I'm skeptical it will be anything special.

I'm a Injen fan. I loved what they did with the 7th gen Celica CAI and I have been waiting for them to do something from my emails it APPEARS that they are working on one but can't get any real gains out of one so they have put it on the backburner and are going to focus on some other applications.

They are probably having idle issues like all the other companies except for racing beat. I would say K&N would have more of hp increase than the Racing Beat. But AEM cures this problem they have one more customer to be..

Racing Beat advertises and sells the K&N intake.

What? Racing Beat do NOT sell the K&N intake. They advertise and sell a drop in panel and are getting close to finishing thier own intake system. But they certainly do NOT sell the K&N, they consider it unusable due to the noise it creates.

Oh and thats solid information, since I was involved in the focus group at the racing beat premises last month. No word as to when their new intake will be available though.

Where is the rest of the AEM intake in the picture? Due to time constraints the intake was left on Tony's car for the weekend.

It goes through the front section of the car, just like a true CAI would, so I couldnt get a picture of that. I could barely eye the filter element standing up close to the car...

I am kind of perplexed why you would be asking that question though.. didnt you build it?

How would you get to the AEM element for cleaning, etc.? Seems something like the RB intake with a cold air snorkel into the bumper area would be a good setup.

Yes, that's why I'm asking why it wasn't in the picture.

Sorry sorry......... I was like a kid in a candy store there at Seven Stock and belive me when I say I would have snapped a photo of it if I thought that you could see what I was taking a picture of...

to continue that story.................... why dont you take a picture of the entire intake while it is out of the car and post it here

Some other bit of information that I got was that AEM needs to build some brackets to hold the CAI in place. The reason for this is so the air flow does not disrupt/vibrate the intake tube potentially degrading the MAF sensors efficiency.

I am not sure if this is the reason.. but it's just what I was told.. I'll let AEM comment further if I misspoke at all.

Np. I'm on my way to pick the car up, so pics shouldn't be a problem.

Thanks AEMTECH for keeping us up to date. When you post the pics can you let us know the dyno/performance details. Dyno charts will be the final step on getting a flood of us to put in an order. Can you also post a release date to the public as soon as you.

Once again, thanx for the info.

Looks cobbled up as hell if you ask me. I have had the K&N on for almost 2 weeks and the car is running fine. Drove to Atlanta and back from KC with no problems.
