Here is what the AEM should look very similar to when production starts.

It was my understanding that the problems with the other intakes on the market was with the MAF sensor not getting accurate readings because since the engine from my sparce understanding only accepts so much airflow since it only sucks in at certian rpms in pulses. On the other intakes more air was comming into across the MAF then was actually being used causing overly rich AF ratios.

This was my understanding....

Have you then found a way to accomplish the engines goal of still using the i think it was harmonic pulse intake method and increasing the airflow or charge of the air? I would think that you would only be able to make a slight temp difference.
I however loved my RSX type s AEM intake, It sounded awsome and had a definate power difference.

I am eagerly awaiting dynos and I appreciate you visiting us and keeping us updated even though some people are so strong in their beliefs good and bad.

Im just here to learn so if you have the answer to how this problem was addressed and resolved please let me know. I can see the filter is in position that doesnt promote a ram air effect which is good I think in this case. I just dont know how the different legnth runner and how the harmonic pule thing is going to be affected with this new intake.

I mean to sound ignorant on this issue becuase I really am when it comes to alot of things still. Im learning alot from all the great posters but there is still so much I dont know and Ill be the first one to say it.

I hope that we can get a sound clip.. even if it's off a digital camera..... Anything would be nice....

Do you plan on posting your findings as far as performance is concerned?

AEM will post dynographs for the RX-8, however we do not do sound clips. It might be possible when the first article comes out for Ash, Steven, or Tony to post sound clips.

AEM sends out the price for the intake to the dealers. The dealer doesn't know when its coming out until AEM releases the kit. The price is surely going to change from whatever is out there, due to all the changes that have taken place from a year ago when the system was started. Whatever pictures are associated with the kit are definately not for the RX-8.

Can't blame the dealers. AEM wants to make sure the kit is right.

I have no idea when I will be getting it... when it arrives I guess.

Sorry no plans for Dyno runs, I only let AEM the car for a week and have nothing else to do with the project or the company.

I will do a full report when I do put it on though so not to worry.

I have a feeling we wont see it until Christmas butI can wait.

By theway Ben is the sound of this cold air intake under WOT comparable to the loudness of the K&N Typhoon?

I hopethe pros of this CAI out weigh the cons as I am also a littleworried about having partof my intake in suchan awkward vulnerable area and whatnot.
