I have 17x8 wheels with Toyo 235/40's for the track. tires I belive ar 24.4 inches--gives it much more grunt exiting turns etc. I will never go back to a taller tire for the track. Oh yea and the entire wheel with lugnuts weights 40lb per bathroom scale.

not with the correct wheel offset

my 265/35-18 Yoko Advan Neovas are wider than the 275/35-18 RT-615s

OD may have me beat on diameter (25.0) and weight (44lb), but don't underestimate the effect of higher cornering speeds

After reading this entire thread, I'm wondering why you guys wouldn't just modify the transmission - this would allow us to better match the gear ratios to the power curve of the car. What's the reasoning behind changing just the final drive?

Probably because of parts availability. Plus I think a diff gear is easier to swap out.

160 KPH = 99.4 MPH

Divide KPH by 1.61 to get MPH

it will run a higher rpm.. under a load/full throttle maybe hotter especially if you are sitting still or on a dyno.

The difference really isn't that great. Check out the threads in the Far East Asian section, as there are a few members that have them installed. Mine is due to arrive next week, but I doubt I'll be installing it anytime soon.
