I' am BAAACK!
Just signed-up for this one, RA, Roebling, and Barber.
Oh by the way I'am going to VIR next week too. That's the VIR Grand-East --> That's right boys and girls: 4.2 miles 32+ turns, the longest road course in America.

Perhaps Miller is longer, has a really long front straight and looks like a nice track but..
VIR: 32+ Corners Miller 24 corners
VIR Elevation Changes 500+ Feet Miller Elevation Changes -> Basically flat with some engineered elevation changes
Since I'm not much into straights and I prefer curvy roller coasters -> Advantage:VIR
You knew I just had to give ya that kinda response.. Loking forward to seeing you at CMP

I would have been disappointed with anything less. I just had to give you **** about which was really longer.
I agree, when you compare the two, VIR wins hands down. I want to go there next year. Hopefully I can make that work out, and persuade a few of my track addict friends to join me.

ok for those brains of yours that are electrically knowledgeable---i installed the lotek center pod and pro sport gauges(look at the thread in the interior section for pictures)---really like it They are electrical gauges and i need some advice. the gauges need 12V to function properly. i ran the power from the cigar lighter(not the light) to the gauges and i am only getting 8.5 V.I measured from the senders(water and oil temps) installed in the adaptors from RB. I havent tested the gauges themselves yet as i would have to remove my console again to gain access. I figue the gauges should not change the volts---correct?
Now why the hell aren't i getting 12 volts from the lighter? WTF?

All I know is that you want a full 12V and it be switched with the car's ignition and dimmed/illuminated with the rest of the dash. That being said, can you get power from the head unit?

I get a little over 12 volts to the gauges---but to the sender(the electric gauges send the power to the senders) i am only getting the before mentioned. I wonder if the senders require 12V? Maybe they dont. If so then somehow there is another problem. Why oh why didnt i keep mechanicals going?
these do look good/cool.
Sorry for the hijack guys. Appreciate your thoughts.

Hey OD,
If I remember correctly it's the senders job to send varying amounts of voltage
For example:
-If you check the Temp sender's voltage with a completely cold engine you get 7 or 8 volts,
-If you check the Temp sender's voltage with the engine warmed up then you get 10 volts
-If you check the Temp sender's voltage with the engine overheating then you get the full 12 volts.
The value of the voltage off the sender indicates a specific Temp value, or oil pressure value etc.
To verify if that's the case with your car check the Temp sender's value with hot vs cold engine.

OD, you sure you got a good connection to chassis ground? A good power connection is only half of the circuit, and the power lead to the lighter sure as heck ought to give you max voltage, with plenty of ampacity.

hey dano, what do you think your options for leaving town on that Friday might be? I might need to go to work for a couple of hours in the a.m., but would like to leave town by 1 at the latest. I know Phlash is taking the day off, so he is game for leaving whenever. And I know that OMS has to work till 5, so he will be driving in late on Friday.
So, Dano and TA2, what are your thoughts and options?

being the VP of something, should make you eligible for the early work release program...

You'd think so but one of the reasons I'm a VP is because I don't take advantage of the system. All someone has to do is come check my calendar on my desk and they will see in big bold letters... "NASA CMP" with orange highlighter and they know what I'm up to... and they do look! One thing that just may be a possibility is that it is the start of my summer vacation so just maybe... fingers crossed... I may be able to pull an early exit but I'm just not banking on it. I will have to wait till that Friday and see how things are going and play it by ear.

you just need to develop a sudden fever at work, at about 10 am, put a little water on your head, make it look like you are sweating, run around in your office, to redden up your face, get all out of breath, and tell them that you are not feeling well, and that there is only one thing that will cure you....
