Looked up the track and checked out a vid. Looks like a fun track. Am gonna do some wheeling and dealing at work this weekend to see if I can get some time off.
If I do, I still may or may not drive. I am starting to seriously think about getting a track toy Miata. The auto8 is workable, but gearing limitations and me being worried about bending my DD will always have me worried. And as Silver said, I leave a lot of money on the table trading mine for an MT, then tracking it.
I would rather put that money into something I can drive and have fun with, and keep my AT for all my traffic hassles.
But I drank the Kool aid, and you never know. You guys camping or hoteling?

the kool-aid kicks ***.

we will hotel it for CMP, but not at the Executive Inn. Probably back at the Holiday Inn Express. It was about 25 minutes away, but near gas stations, and gave the car a good chance to warm up in the am. But this time it will not be 20 degrees outside.

probably too late to sign up to use a coupon for CMP, but if you do get rid of it, and can just transfer my name onto it, I will take it.

Actually, I'll be home alone. My wife is going on a trip with her sister. I have to take care of the furry ones. I'm on lockdown that weekend. I can't do that and the Barber the next weekend.

Yo, what kind of $$$ would it cost to just hang and assist? I really don't want to race this time, being my first NASA event. That would be too much for the first time. I have a blast just being around this stuff.

I've been in pits a few times to assist my brother, who races the GT2 RX-7 that I put back in my avatar. I also assisted with Bob Leitzinger and his son, Butch, and their crew down @ Sebring for the 12 hour race once. That was surreal.

I live real close, in Lugoff. My older son owns an RX-7 and is definitely into this. My guess is he'll be wanting to do this too...

So, yeah...

Well... if there is a fee to get in the park, it's minimal. Phlash will know for sure. And when it comes to helping us in the pits... you will be dissapointed if you are expecting anything like what you have already experienced. This is laid back and causual, usually with plenty of time to check the oil, tire pressure and make sure your bladder is evacuated. Ask Swoop. This is what he did at Roebling Road last weekend. He did take some photos while watching from the sidelines and help us with anything we needed but mostly we just enjoyed talking and being together with a comon cause. These are some fun times.

$$=Peanuts. I hung out at Road Atlanta and it was simply the track entrance fee and sign the waiver. We had 3 people hanging out at Roebling and same deal. Parked in the paddock with us and hung out all weekend.
5$ at Roebling, maybe 10$ at RA - and there was a free BBQ dinner, with a couple free beers Sat night.
