You looked good, especially through most of the track. However, Steve and I found that the banking will take off 3sec from your time, based on what we learned at Roebling. Next time, you will be in my group, and we can do some lead follow. I bet I can get you deep into the 1.08's, provided the air is nice and cool.

RA
Rockingham
Roebling for few reasons.....it's a challenging course, but you can push it. If you screw up, for the most part it's pretty forgiving. It's a fast track, your 20 minutes from the beach (yeah, like that's ever been an issue). It's usually smaller groups and for the most part, the weather is usually nice.
RA-Dig the elevation changes and turn 12. Usually the biggest turnout of all the NASA events. closest to home. hate the ever looming wall around it.
Rockingham-Cool setup. Banks are pretty hairy (I guess that's till you learn em).Smaller groups. You can observe the entire track from the top of the media center. Hell of a drive (1000 mile round trip for me). Easy track to manage. The rockingham fish house has great tuna steaks!

For me, the list would be Road A, Roebling, and the Rock.
I like Road A, because, there is a 'stigma' about it. The best run there, and if you can run fast there, you can run with anyone anywhere. Roebling woudl be next, very forgiving, but HARD on tires and brakes (till you learn turn one). The Rockingham, lots of flash, but essentially an easy track to run.
However, of all tracks, it would be VIR Patriot course, Full course, CMP, Road A, Talladega, Roebling, and 'The Rock'. Next year, i am heading to Laguna and Shendoah, so the list could change some.
TA, yes, there is conversations, and yes, I think you are aware enough to move up, more for the other students sake than yours. You learn by being in a faster group, and seeing how they lines change when you add speed, more speed, and insane speed. Your times would have made you hard to catch in the 3 group, and 4 group. Heck, steve was running 1:14's, and he is an instructor. Granted, he was on street rubber, but still.
I want to email Julie and Stacy, have some conversations. Maybe at the next event, if you want, I will work with you in the AM on Satruday, and sign you off, and let you make a few runs in the 3 group. If you don't feel warm and fuzzy, then we will move you down, but you are so fast now, i sincerely think you would be fine. I know the other drivers, and you woudl be courteous to them, and they would look out for you. Once you achieve this level, it becomes a family, and you are about to be welcomed.
Good job, I just wish I could have worked with you some at the Rock.

The Turkish Delight
Let me know about Laguna Seca. I'd love to see that track. Even if I can't drive on it, I'd love to go. my brother lives in LA, so I'll also visit family while on that side of the US.

Roebling - it is a hang on and drive circuit with a lot of dancing around the apexes and as much slip angle as you feel comfortable with.
Road Atlanta - the elevation changes alone are spectacular especially dving down through turn 12 flat.
The Rock - I hate to rank this third since it implies it is the worst. In fact, this track was the most intimidating to drive, even more so that RA. Something about the 30+ degrees of banking... The Rock was a blast.
The question you asked is unfair as the expereince of being on track is fantastic. Even bad sex can be pretty damn good. Hopefully 2006 allows us to experience sex with multiple partners (or other tracks)

Phlash, you have some awesome pics! I see you are using "Gallery". Do you find this to be the best way to present images? I've got to do something less time consuming.

I think the new version (2.01 - I have got to upgrade...)may be an easier set up. Back when i started the site it was something like version .8....and it was a major biatch to install. Over time the upgrades have been much cleaner. I like it. The Gallery support community is very helpful and it FREE!!
