No - the only person who can take someone out is an instructor.
And yes, if it is your first NASA event, HPDE1

awesome, you will really enjoy Road Atlanta. The elevation changes are really amazing from the drivers seat.

I am really looking forward to RA. After this weekend. I just want some more track. I have recovered from my high at TGPR, and am ready to do it again. Adrenaline is the best drug on the planet.

I always wanted to meet you guys, after reading some of your other exploits on the track and all. Should be a blast, then I tell my friends about it!

well, in true track ho fashion, I took apart the car in the driveway. Put the not so dusty pads back in, thanks TA for your phone assistance.

I also found a nice piece of metal stuck in one of my tires. I discussed it with TA, but would like some other opinions, about driving RA with a patched tire. If I have to, I will get two new ones, but I would really like to save the $$. Opinions please...

personally I would say that any type of performance driving on a patched tire is a bad idea.

Hey TA, this is kinda off topic... Do you use the camera mount that has the suction cup on the end? If so, is it mounted on the inside of the rear window? I thought that was an ideal place to put it, but I didn't think that it would hold because of the slight curve in the glass.

Patched tire=bad Idea. I would try to find another one, and use it at Road A. Just put the new one on the outside driverside front, after two sessions. it will be caught up with the rest .

My mount is a thru-the-trunck type. It si a 36" aluminium tube screwed inot the pass through. NASA doesn't allow suction cup mounts IIRC

Yep. Only hard mounted cameras are allowed in NASA. And my thoughts on using a patched tire for a driving event? Not me. Safety is a primary concern for me.

You will not believe the camera mount I'm making in our shop. Keep in mind that I work in a manufacturing facility with a R&D department and a fabrication shop! Stay tuned as I'm sure you will be interested in the puppy I'm working on. I will give you a hint... it's a 3 point mount and I'm not drilling any holes in my car! It may be good enough to market! Can't wait!

THanks for the opinions on the tire. I am going to get it patched for now, and then get two new ones for RA. I figured it was a bad idea to track a patched tire, and just wanted to see if everyone else agreed. I really need a set of track wheels and tires.
