Hey everybody in NC (specifically Raleigh), was looking around for some place to get my inspection done. The reason I ask is because my tint is a little past illegal (something like 26% if I remember correctly) and I really don't want to have any problems. I have tried a few places and it was a no go. Any help would be appriciated.

"Who all in from NC" thread. I'm in Fayetteville, but a group meets up there every other Sat, I think....

 

My '8 recently passed inspection in NC.

I've got a fairly dark tint that the original owner claims is SC legal. The place I used is a "Fast Lube Plus" near the corner of Penny Road and Kildaire Farm road in Cary.

My '8 obviously has aftermarket tint to someone who knows '8s, but the service station listed tint as 'N/A' on the inspection write-up.

I'd also suggest driving up to the station with your windows rolled down, as it's less obvious that you have aftermarket tint if they don't see your front windows.

I cant wait to go through that nightmare... my rear windows are all 5% tint.

I have a friend with a Wolfsburg Jetta that has dark tint too. He found a shop which worked off of a "You take care of me, I'll take care of you" philosophy.

I'll see if I can get him to divulge where it is.
