Hello from Raleigh
Just wanted to pop into this part of the forum and say hello. Just bought my RX-8 on Friday. So... when you see a Titanium 8 flying down 40 in the AM that would be me. =)
I would say that I would be flying in the PM but we all know how the traffic is coming out of the park in the PM. =)

Don't know if you are checking this post any more. I am from Durham and you can see me in the park sometimes also with my Titanium RX-8. Agreed that their is not much flying around here in the PM. Weekends around here are fun and lots of country roads not far outside the Triangle. :-)

Welcome, postal.
I have a silver 8 in Chatham County. I spend a lot of time in Raleigh on business. I haven't seen very many on the road or around town. One parked, two moving in four months.

I saw another Titanium 8 on Davis drive a couple of weeks ago... probably one of you. =)
I also happened to park next to one at Southpoint Mall last week. It was over towards the Apple store and the Titanium was pulled in, instead of backed in, to the spot. Had the shield on the moonroof.

Another Titanium is in the house!
Got mine last Saturday and "Lovin' Every Minute Of It" You'll see me around Glenwood and Peace streets mostly, or out in the twisty backroads NW of the Triangle.

Anyone here been up to Tail of the Dragon? I want to go some time. The pic I posted was taken near Hanging Rock SP; the area is kind of a Tail of the Dragon Lite... a lot of fun.

Burlington, yeah no I-40 in PM especially with this new construction and only one lane open. Turned a 45 min. drive to Raleigh into two and a half hours. I got my 8 from a dealership in Raleigh.

Hi All. I live in Kernersville (Piedmont Triad) and have about 2 days a week in RTP on business. I got my Titanium 8 last September and have had it up on VIR a couple of times. If you're interested in a High Speed "Education" experience, check out mazdadrivers.com. Nice folks, low key and LOTS of fun.
What's this Tail of the Dragon thing? Sounds like something me and my 8 would enjoy...

Tail of the dragon is a stretch of road on the NC/TN line that has something like 318 turns in 12 miles. A lot of bikers/miata owners hit it pretty hard. Never been there, but I'd like to go sometime.

I'm a proud owner of a MT - Red Mica w/Black & Red leather interior. I know I'm posting a little late, but I just found this site (I've had the car for 3 weeks now). I've only seen a couple other 8's, and one is in my neighborhood (off Leesville Rd.) Guess I'm not the only one who looks forward to road signs with a big S and 25 MPH on them....

We could always go to Piedmont Dragway but that's outside Burlington. Or we could do a NC, VA, TN meet and go to VIR.
Here's a link to both.

Hey all you 8 owners! Have y'all heard of the Raleigh Rotary Drive-ins. They happen the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of each month at 6:30 pm and are a chance for rotary owners to get together and talk about their cars and the greatest love of their lives, well, I guess that's redundant.
We meet at the Char Grill on Strickland Road in N. Raleigh, that's just west of the Strickland and Six Forks intersection. We have about 15 - 20 rotary owners with all generations of RX7s represented so far. We'd like to see the newest gens represented as well. Your all invited to drive-in your 8 and properly impress us with your best friend.

Bad Weather Possible for Saturday evening
Just got a weather forecast from the weather channel for Saturday. Bad news is that it looks like rain most of the afternoon but can't be sure if it is from thunder storms or a general widespread rain that would really limit outside time.
We have a rainy day meeting site at the Wachovia parking garage on Blue Ridge Road. Here is a map of the location:
We will meet at this location on Saturday, July 24th, at 6:30 pm. The parking garage should give us plenty of parking and protection from the rain. We can still eat at the Char Grill near the Blue Ridge and Edwards Mill intersection. If you're coming in on the I-440 beltline then get off at the Lake Boone Trail exit, go west to Blue Ridge Road and turn left, the Wachovia Bldg will be on your right. If coming in on I-540 you should exit to Hwy 70 and go toward Raleigh. At Crabtree Valley Mall turn right on Edwards Mill and make a left, at the top of the hill, on to Blue Ridge. Go past Rex Hospital and you will see the Wachovia Bldg on your right.
My cell phone will be on all day Saturday and if you have any questions pls call 919-247-3884 for directions and instructions. This info will also be posted on the other threads as well.
