I'd like a little clarification for the virgin ifin' ya'll don't mind:

- Lift: partial or full throttle off?
- Ditch? Is that something on the track or beside it?
- Change tires only in paddock area?
- Bathrooms easily accessible?
- Is there a covered area or will my easy-up that Travis is bringing be all we have for cover?
- Should I bring Pepper Spray in case you guys get unruly?

*lift: enough to let the passer get by with the room you have left in the zone. DON"T brake, it kinda freaks some folks out.
*ditch: close to the track but not on it
*the paddock is the "staging area" so to speak, the grid is where the cars line up to go onto the track.
*bathrooms: we are men, just whip it out the window and do your job......
*I think someone is bringing a cover and there is a covered area.
*you don't own enough pepper spray to control us....

lift and point, very important. will be harder if it is raining, with windows up, but the point by is key. this was hard to get some folks to do at RA in august. we forgot to ask which side we will allow passing on. at RA it was only allowed on the right, passing on the right. will this be left up to the car being passed, i think it should be a standard, so as not to confuse.

i dont know what you mean about big *** pants making things look small... i know they slowed me down...trying to walk across paddock.

Yes, you can bring someone. They are going to be showing up late Friday night (around 9pm I think) so we don't have to leave as early.

Guys, we can bring our friends, BUT they can't go on pit road, only drivers. Also, if it does rain, please stay off the grass, because he is very **** about this.

Other than that, see you guys on Friday at the Hampton Inn.

Tires and other fun stuff!

The tire company that put my new tires on my car today had a $60 warranty program like Firestone’s. I decided to slip them 60 and get them to rotate every 3K for the life of the tires. I haven't done a close inspection with a microscope but the job looked to be satisfactory.

I was very **** about telling them everything they needed to do because I was leaving it over night for a morning installation, which included:

CAR:
Mount/balance of new OEM tires onto car.

EXTRA SET OF WHEELS for tracking, mount and balance:
- Mounting of two take-offs onto two used OEM wheels.
- Take off one tire from a third used OEM wheel and change directions so the full set of tracking wheels/tires was complete and accurately mounted.

As if this wasn't enough to tell them and pray it was properly done... I had to tell them the warm up procedure and hope they did it properly. Glassed over eyes and head bobbing up and down, he said he understood and repeated adequately my request. As I was walking out the door I decided to go back in and write it across the entire page of the write up so they could not miss it!

Yep! This afternoon when I went to pick my car up, it was still in the bay. The guy told me he was leaving it in the bay so car's would not open the doors up on it in the parking lot. I though that was very nice of them but suspected the worst when I realized it had been in that spot ALL DAY! So, I stuck the key in the ignition, squinted my eyes, turned the key and errrrrrrr, errrrrrrrr, errrrrrr. Gas to the floorboard... errrrrrr, errrrrr, errrrrr! Yep!

All said and done, I had to laugh. I went back into the office and proceeded to give them a piece of my mind (politely) and tell them how they screwed up. The guy in the shop eventually admitted he may not have let it warm up enough.

What made this so funny to me is that I was driving into the Mazda dealer tomorrow morning anyway to try to work out the flooding issue before it actually happened! Man, they made my job much easier.

Let me know if they change the spark plugs for the flooding. BTW, did you try to deflood it yourself? There are a couple ways to do it. The "mash the peddle to the floor and crank" method or you can also pull the EFI/fuel pump fuse and turn it over for a while, then put it back in and it should crank. This will get rid of the gas in the chamber with the cranking and defloor it. Works for RX-7's anyway.

I tried the peddle to the floor and crank method and it didn't work. It all turned out in my favor. Now I will get the new plugs & starter. I'll let you know what they do when I get it back.

ONLY 2 MORE DAYS...WOOOOOOHOOOOOOO!

Drove to work today with the new gloves on, they are very nice. I like how I can still feel vibrations and road surface through the wheel. I was afraid that I would loose that sense with the gloves on, but I was happy when it was still there. The pyrometer should be here today, which means I will spend the afternoon taking surface temps of everything in sight. Tonight the tires goet rotated, the trunk liners and seats come out...lets hit the track.

I like em, they were on sale when I got them, they are just the right thickness. They are a tiny bit small, but the next size up would be too big.

and yes, i cant find one that i am happy with, they are too damn small, the avatars anyway. i thought this one went well with my statement under my screen name too.
