FREE ADVICE!
0559.....MY DAUGHTER HAS ONE MINUTE TO FINISH UP IN THE BATHROOM. I MAY be coming without her.
I talked with Meowloud last night. They've run into some bad luck. They're trying to get their car towed to the dealer and waiting for roadside assistance to show up. Keep them in your thoughts and prayers and let our collective POSITIVE ENERGY reject any more negative vibes that may be lurking about.
zsak...glad to see you are gonna be able to make it.
OMG!! My daughter is ready!!!!! <thump>

Thanks Air_ForceRX8 and Razpewton, thank God that you guys were able to get a hold of. Jon and I have had the night from HELL. D Menac 7, we are OK... thanks for the message, but your PM is full :D
Jon's 8 (titanium) broke down in S. GA. We had to leave it in Macon, GA!!!!! Mazda has REALLY screwed us!!! Depending on when they get it fixed (seems it may be the ECU), we will have to drive BACK down to GA. to fetch it!!! I KID YOU NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for your well wishes. We _JUST_ got home and thought we'd check our messages. I am so upset right now... I don't have words to describe it. Mazda left us in the sticks for 2 hours, and finally got a tow to Macon where we were greeted to a closed dealership (2300 hrs at this point) and awoke to a dealership that was not willing to help, other than to stay "stay here until Monday, then we'll have someone to look at it". It goes ON AND ON from there. I'll have to fill you in later, I'll post in the Lounge.
THANKS EVERYONE!
After reading this again, I think I'm going to cry

Trash
Hey everyone I had a great timeout there today, but I wanted to point out an issue that upset me. As I was standing there watching everyone getting ready to leave I saw so many people from the RX-7 group taking trash from their cars and setting it in the parking lot and leaving it. There was a water and Mountain Dew bottle that appeared to have been left by the 8 group, but almost all of it was from the 7 group. Even one water bottle had GAS in it! WTF?!?!
This is unacceptable behavior IMO because Race Rock allowed us to meet for free there and yes they benefitted from us eating lunch inside, but that is no excuse whatsoever for dumping the amount of trash that I stayed to pick up. The Boy Scouts of America have a saying..."Leave no trace". Simply put leave the area cleaner than when you arrived. If we do not adopt a position like this for future meets we can expect places to require a deposit.
Let's have another meet, but please make it clear that we need to conduct ourselves as responsible adults or we will have fewer places to have meets.
Flame out...

sup everyone. AWESOME turn out for the meet. i had a great time...even though we all left earlier than we planned..it was still plenty of time for chillin and picture taking. I wish that we could have been able to stay closer together during the cruise, just b/c that would have looked bad ***. but w/ all that traffic and lights....and those who just flat out took off (all the 7s!! hehe) that didn't happen...all good though, it was great. thanks to everyone who made it happen.
Hey Randy, thanks again for all your hard work in setting up the meet. That includes maintaining the website, contacting dealers for door prizes, t-shirts, registration forms, etc. WOW! Big time kudos to you, man. It was great to meet you and the other members on the board. What a turn out today. You did good, man.
Morgan, our lovely event coordinator. big ups for taking hold of the idea and running with it...this obviously wouldn't have come together w/o you...it was also good to finally meet ya...your a lil cutey... anyways, i'm done kissing your ***...i should jump you and steal those prizes you won today! grrr haha..
Brian, props for settin up the meet location and gettin hold of race rock..and for finding our picture takin spot..pretty nice $700 nav you got there, heh..cya around campus
and to everyone else who contributed to the meet...yall are the crap...cya in a few months hopefully... peace

Holy crap, Meowloud...i'm soooooo sorry. i just can't imagine what you'd be feelin right now. how potentially you'd have a wonderful time meeting up with ppl u've been posting to for months...to the opposite extreme of having everything go wrong.. it's bad enough that you got stranded..but for those ppl that dumped soda on you..i swear that PISSES me off.
we did end up having a blast and wished you could have come out and been a part of it..i'm glad you're back home safely though...if you're up for it....you should come out to the next meet..
btw, it's awesome that you were game to show up to this meet in the first place...comin from TN n all.. take care, and i hope you get things straightened out with the car..

It was great to see all the people here in Orlando and meet everybody. I do have to say how embarrassed I was to be part of this group when the group left Race Rock! I did not leave with the group but stayed to have lunch with my wife at Race Rock while everybody was leaving I watched the group of kids in the RX7's doing burn outs out of the parking lot and driving like complete idoits in the middle of heavy traffic and tourists. Almost everybody in Race Rock thought that the group leaving like that was going to hurt somebody.
It is a shame to take a positive event and leave such negative impression behind.

just got home....had a great time today. wish i would have remembered to look for trash before leaving race rock, i did pick up some stuff and throw it away in a small garbage bag Randy had. everyone should have been respnsible for their own garbage though
thanks to everyone for planning this shindig
thanks to everyone for getting door prizes (including myself) even though i didnt win anything :-(
we'll have to be sure to do this a couple times a year at least. maybe the next one can be our BIG one. i will be working on more sponsorship (i only had a week on this one as i didnt get involved early). maybe some big items or gift certificates.
to the door prize winners. it would be a great gesture to email the companies you won prizes from and thank them. if you dont know who donated your prize, i am sure raz or bluegrim or myself know. (the sidemarkers and carbon fiber bumper guard are from Rotart Extreme) PLUS they also are giving 15% discount on body kits till the middle of May to anyone who was there.
anyway....great to meet everyone and hope to see you again soon!!

Yes, I'm from St. Augustine (below Jacksonville) and was going to spend Sunday with my family. Everything is ruined, but thank you to all who was there. If you can just imagine a small trip you were going to take... drive 5 hours just to break down. Then, no one on here seems to care. Oh well. *Sigh* Guess I will go back to stupid jokes and pics.
Be careful with Mazda Roadside all. Do NOT depend on them.
Thanks All! Zoom Zoom

Deb: I'm glad to know you're ok and all. We're having another event sometime before the fall school season starts. I can't dissclose where it is probably going to be yet...but it's going to be awsome! a few of us already started on the planning for it and all, i hope you'll be able to make it down for it!!!!!
Everyone else...SHAME ON YOU FOR LEAVING TRASH!!!! Thats a wee-bit childish don't you think? Regardless, and not to completely bash the RX7 guys..i do believe it was mostly them. Mostly because the rx8 guys all ate inside or didnt eat at all! hehe
Oh well, i'm still glowing for the whole event... yay, i'm sooooo happy right now!!!

Hello all,
I just wanted to say how much fun I had at the meet in Orlando. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing all the RX-8's and their various mods and options. A few of them I think I'll "borrow and modify" the ideas from and add to mine.
It was also good to be able to put a face to some names. Instead of only having text to some names, even though it will take a couple more meets to really get the names and faces remembered.
The onlt thing I regret about the meet, is that I forgot my camera But I see a lot of people have already posted pictures and they all look great.
I wasn't expecting to see as many RX-7s there, but I'm glad they were. Seeing the 7's next to the 8's and then the RX-2 at the photo op, made me realize it's not just the RX-8 I like. But the Rotary Engine and Mazda all together. And now I want to really get deep into the workings and mechanics of the Rotary.
Anyway, The meet was a blast and I can't wait to attend the next..or even be part of setting it up. And by the next one my 8 will hopefully not be so stock
Gary J.
