As promised, my Dynochart. Sorry it is a little small, that file limit is killing me.

Wow. You take a real hit when the VDI opens. That sucks.

There is something really wrong with the latest dynos I've seen. Power falls on its face after 7K. Mine drops a tiny bit but, recovers almost immediately and ends up almost flat with the peak power area.

yeah I noticed that almost all of the 8s down there that day had drops like that. Mine looks to have topped out at 7300 RPMs. Also on mine, Torque drops alot at that same spot. Isnt that where something opens up? Is there anything that can be done to fix this? Any ideas of what's even causing it?

Yeah, both times. We are going to work on it. New flash for the ECU tomorrow, new plugs at Mazcare when I get back in town mid June. And just for everyone out there, do NOT go to the dealer for plugs. They wanted to charge me 225 for plugs and two hours for the install. Bill would have been 400 bucks. Those of us in the ATL are lucky to have Mazcare.

I posted mine from Saturday on the P flash thread. I have to wonder if those with the power drop off are actually up to date on calibrations. Only way to know for sure is to hook up to the WDS. I know of several that were supposed to be up to date that still needed to be done. Nabil gets it tomorrow so we'll see what happens.

I was on the "M" version when I dyno'd. I can assure you, power didn't drop off as radically as the ones I've seen from the dyno day you guys held last weekend. I am currently on the "N" cal. as per my last dealer visit. Makes me wonder though, you dyno'd on "P"; I did with "M" and the biggest difference between the two of us is obviously a nearly 25hp deficit on my part, but the curves look pretty close in shape, and where they peak and start to drop and how much they drop.

I'll give you this, my car was and is bone stock down to the last bolt. Yours is not -are your wheels much lighter than stock?- However, that doesn't explain the drop after 7K. WTH

Correction: It seems obvious the fault is with the VDI or whatever actuates the port opening after 7Krpm.

SSR wheels are on it now but were not at time of last test on dyno. They are 6lbs lighter than stock per wheel.

Well everyone I've decided to go ahead and take the plung into FI. Anyone know where I can get the Greddy kit at a cheap price? I've found it for $3028 shipped, but would like to find the cheapest place to get it. Plus is there any suggestions as to what I should get to make the kit produce more power? Which bov should I get? Stuff like that.

Oh and do you think I'll need these new colder plugs or just the new factory ones?

Thanks,
Jamie

Colder plugs for sure w/turbo to prevent preignition.

And you base that comment on what? On a high compression rotary engine with an already agrresive ignition curve it is one of the first things to do when going forced induction. Cooling system would be next. This is precautionary due to increased chamber pressure, increased heat etc.

I base it on not be necessary. If you are already inside the safety margin, colder plugs will simply foul more easily.
It is wonderful to throw money at things and follow the well-beaten path of a million magazine stars, but if you don't have a pre-ignition issue because you have controlled the timing adequately as well as the fuel delivery, colder plugs serve no purpose.

You are simply repeating a mantra.
