On lap timers--what is recommended and do they work on a gps or a transponder? Do you have to rent the transponder at the track--do you have to set one up yourself? how does that work?
Starting to feel it baby!
Got my cheap hoosiers mounted. the 225's are a little wider than the 235 RA's. Anyone want some 17" RA 1's(still have some life in them) for $50 for all four?

It'll still work with the Voodoo ****. One of the Roar cars has a ball **** like that. Shouldn't be a problem.

The Lap Timers usually work by picking up an Infra Red signal tranmitted from the side of the track. You set this up wherever you want to. The receiver in your car picks it up, then reads out the time between when it picked up the last one. This is how you get lap times. Usually there is someone on track that has a transmitter set up and people just use that one. Or, you can set up your own. This is how mine works.

I woke up this morning not to my alarm clock but to entering turn 2 at a newly paved Road Atlanta. I hit the brakes hard and shifted to 3rd, let up and turned in tight on turn 3 and the new pavement felt sooooo good. I rounded turn 4, shifted to 4th in the short straight, and matted it through the esses, downshifted to 3rd and all my marks for turn in were gone but again the new pavement felt good and being off line just a little didn't seem to matter because the car just dug in. The wide sweeping exit was smooth with no gators. I shifted to 4th and got a little confused as to whether to stay in 4th or not so I decided since it was my first run at the new track that I should shift to 3rd and the car took turn 6 without hardly any tire noise. I apexed turn 6 and tracked out to the edge of the track, nailed the brake and shifted to second and thought well this track is so smooth I should have stayed in 4th through 6 and shifted down to 3rd for turn 7. So, I fast reversed it and went back for a do over and it felt perfect. Then I shifted to 4th much earlier than usual to the bridge because of the RPM’s and had to hit 5th before turn 9 then dbl down shifted to enter turn 10A and it was SOOOOOOO SWEET braking on the new asphalt. Turned in tight, stayed a little left for turn 10B, apexed and up the hill to the bridge, down the hill, shifted to 4th and the dip was gone, apexed 12 and was off to turn 1 when I actually woke up with this HUGE grin on my face. I looked at my alarm clock and it was 1:30 sec till time for my alarm to go off. I've had a **** eating grin on my face ever since and I think I'm going to have a great day!

did you have to change your pants, and the sheets!

Better to have that dream about RA than the ones I had last year about this time.

You can now use Road Atlanta as a substitute for the little blue pill.

Silver the shifter is from Axil flow engineering--richard paul axil flow supercharger dude you know. On the forum or google "axil flow short shifter" cost approx $270 shipped. Maybe with it I will not go from 3nd to 2nd on the straight going to turn 6!

I was going to reply with a list of my stealth mods and my not so stealth mods. My not so stealth mods are all track related - pitted front bumper, pock marked windshield, rubber streaks on rocker panels... you know...track mods My passenger seat leather is a bit messed up after I took Kurtbob through the kink at CMP in a bit of a crab like attitude at 100+. I have been trying to push the leather back in

BTW, have the instructors gotten email confirmations from Julie about this event yet? I've gotten the standard NASA email, but not a specific one from Julie.
