Touch up pen

Just wanted to post that I recently got one of those Autovisuals touch-up pens for touching up rock chips on the front of my car. Wouldn't you know, as soon as it came, I discovered two chips right in the rotor-shaped hood bump? I was pissed! Still am.

Anyway, it provided me with a chance to use the pen, and it works very well. I much prefer this to the little bottle of touch-up paint you get from Mazda. I believe the paint is a better match, and it's easier to layer it with the pen than with the brush. With the pen, the paint doesn't glob up and get all sticky.

I've tried everything in the past with touch-up paint, using matchsticks and toothpicks, Langka, etc, and never had much luck getting it to look even a little decent. This is at least not immediately noticeable as soon as you walk up to the car. It's not professional, but it's acceptable to me.

The only problem is that the tip on the pen is probably too large for very very small chips. Don't know for sure, haven't had to try yet, but I'm sure I will soon. I seem to find new chips in my paint every time I wash the car.

Sorry. There are other brands, too, but this is the one I got. They aren't cheap. Around $20 with shipping.
