As long as we are on the subject, I started a thread here but it may have gotten lost.
An excellent product to polish and put a shine on the glass to go along with the polished look you get from Meguiars waxes. https://www.rx8club.com/rx-8-show-shine-26/product-recommendation-rain-clear%AE-gel-154234/

Now what is this I hear about NXT being more of a sealant, and some using Gold Class as the wax followed by a layer of NXT as a sealer/wax?!?

^^^^Indeed! I got that from the meguiars forums, I was talking about that here: https://www.rx8club.com/rx-8-show-shine-26/comparison-meguirres-nxt2-techwax-vs-zymol-wax-155410/

I was looking at the Deep Crystal Polish, and it says that it's "specially formulated for darker cars". Will I have a problem using it on Lightning Yellow? My initial thought is no, that seems silly, but you never know.

Nothing but Maguire's Ultimate Detailer for me. My 2004 rarely sees the inside of the garage but even with the Atlanta sun, she still shines like new.

I'm a born-again believer in Meguiars NXT Tech II wax! I'll probably still use Ice for 'everyday' convenience, but Tech II at least quarterly, if not monthly. Very impressive product!!

Nxt did an excellent job on my rx8 ( which I just got 4 days ago!!) but I live in a town with many gravel and sand deposits so after washing and using nxt ,a day or 2 later, I give it a wipedown with the ultimate quick detailer and it just sparkles and sparkles ... I use black magic titanium wheel cleaner on my wheels though ...

holy shiny car batman. i will admit that i have never used a clay bar and always wanted to but i'm not quite sure why i never did it. i finally went over to pep boys since they had their $10 off $30 and bought the meguiars clay bar kit and a bottle of NXT and walked away only $21 dollars lighter after tax.

i have to say i am now completely sold. my car has never felt so smooth and never looked so shiny. i can't say that it's solely due to meguiars since i haven't used another product but i don't know that i will anymore since the price is so good (even without the coupon). i wanted to take some pics but finished as i was losing light so i didn't get a chance to do so.

noob question but i'm assuming that the clay bar i used is now done and should be thrown away, right? i still have the other one since it came with two but wanted to ask before i tossed the one that was used today.

Nice car Batman...Thx for posting...Post the pic with the tape also...

I kept my clay in the same small blk case. It may dryout by the time I'm ready for it again as my car wasn't really dirty and is garaged.

I would think that it wouldn't be good anymore as I kneaded mine a few times to remove the dirt...

i took some this morning just before running out to work so i'll upload them tonight. of course in doing this and having it so clean and shiny i now realize i really need to get some of the scratch x remover too for the swirls.

EDIT: so i uploaded the pictures i took this morning. none of them really showed the shine but i'll post anyway. i would take more but my car is covered in pollen from today and i don't have the patience to wipe it down before it gets dark. please ignore the 4x4 status and lack of rear.

thanks for the comments guys. i know there is still a decent amount of work left to do but i really like how it's coming along so far. and now that i know how to get it so nice and shiny, it should look that much better.

WoW .. I just bought Meguiars Ultimate Compound ... I transformed my 1.8T Gti from trash to perfection ( well almost) !! lol.. my paint was Horrible when my dad bought it but this compound took all swirl marks and oxidation away .. i think i may have to run some NXT over it to get some decent shine because i must say this paint is worse then some cars i have had from 198-'s
