My Before and After ScratchX and NXT... (no editing done to the pictures what so ever) 2coats of ScratchX & 1 coat of NXT...

BEFORE:

See the swirlies:

AFTER:

See NO swirlies:

Really hard to do without sun and in a garage...but there was definitely a difference... No more swirlies and wet look shine to kill... Excellent products that work...

Longtime Meguiars user.

Have used the Gold Class for years but recently tried the new NXT.
I think the NXT is just a little easier to use. With the Gold Class if you applied too much it was a pain to wipe up, but the NXT is a little easier to get up IMO.
The finish is about the same.

When I want to go all out I use
Meguiars Brands:
Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner,
Clay bar,
Scratch X,
Deep Crystal Polish,
NXT wax,
Leather Care lotion,
Gold Class Vinyl/Rubber Protectant
Natural Shine Vinyl & Rubber Protectant (for dash, less shiny)
PlastX Clear Plastic Cleaner & Polish
Chrome Polish.
Gold Class Endurance High Gloss- For Tires and Rubber parts (High silicone content)
NXT detailer as needed.

The only non-Meguiars products I use are:
Mothers Back to Black
Unelko Glass Scrub gel cleaner
Unelko Rain Clear (Better than RainX)

It is a nice step before waxing...............especially after stripping the old wax and clay barring. Basically it give a deeper color and finish.

Deep Crystal® system Polish is a pure polish specially formulated for dark-colored cars. The formula creates a dazzling, high gloss finish by conditioning and nourishing the paint, making dark colors darker and eliminating fine hairline scratches for perfect swirl-free reflections. It is that extra step necessary to create the ultimate, wet-look show car shine.

So I'm getting ready to do the whole ball of wax (pun intended). I wanted to make sure I got my order correct.

Does it matter if I clay or clean(scratch X) first?

So this is what I was planing:

1) Wash Car
2) Dry
3) Clay
4) Clean
5) Polish
6) Wax

Did I get that right?

Thanks

i read this thread a few weeks ago and i finally got around to claybarring and waxing today.. i'm happy with the results.. oh and i also have a couple of questions:

1. should i apply the wax thick or thin?

2. should i let it dry completely before buffing out or get it while it's still moist?

i used the meguiars clay bar kit after i washed and used the tech wax and on the wheels too.. thanks everyone for helping me get started..

all in all, it was a well spent sunday.. here's some pics..
