I think you would have to get it from Mazda, but I doubt you will be able to since they were only put in race cars...Its not like you can pull one out of an old RX7. If you were able to find one, I would bet that you would pay a pretty penny.

if you have huge amounts of money to just throw at this then go nuts, but because you are even asking this i dont think you are really going to do this. here an older thread

well i know **** is going to be a lot of money but im not planning on getting it right now i will be saving up for a while. but i intend on eventually swapping one into my car.

now i read in the forum above that the rx8 engine bay isnt big enough? is this true? cause i have seen a 26b in rx7 before but not in an 8 which makes me really determined to put a 26b in my 8

Anything is possible with the right amount of time and money. But i agree, it would be so expensive, its not really worth it.

Not sure what your ultimate power goals are, but a 20B swap will be a good starting point. Many road-going RX-7s and RX-8s have done this 3 rotor swap with great success. You could definitely make some decent power with a 20B whether you choose to go n/a or forced induction.

It varies depending on tune & set-up. Best place to do research is www.rx7club.com - they have an entire section of their forum dedicated to the 20b. Also do a search on youtube - lots of videos of 20b RX-7's and RX-8's.

N/A I think some people have hit around 350whp & 250wtq. With a turbo...hehe, let's just say some top rotary drag racing teams use that engine.

if youre "saving up" for an engine then youre not making wise money decisions. you would have to spend well over 40k. only spend that kind of money if you have it to begin with, otherwise you'll be delevoping horrible money management skills.

n/a = naturally aspirated or "all motor". 300-350whp can definitely be made, some claim to have reached closer to 400.

With an appropriately sized turbo, well over 700whp can be made. Drag teams can make in excess of 1,000hp on fully built 20b's.

18 years old, wants 'at least' 800hp, doesn't know what a 26b is, but surely wants one.

I love these posts......

haha ok cause im 18 years old doesnt mean **** and who the hell cares if im in high school still like really and also i do know what a 26b engine is if i didnt why would i be talking about getting one? i want to keep my car rotary and i want the best i can get for it and there is no better rotary engine then a 26b i know most of my **** and im not dumb and now that ive looked into this more im probably goign to get a 20b cause it will probably work better in my car and be a lot easyer to get and etc. but just because im in high school still and im still young it doesnt mean **** and who the hell said i was going to get my engine swapped out right away? im not im setting a goal for myself and my car and im determined to get to it. i mean you guys can talk all the **** you want but point is its just talk and you dont really know anything about me so keep it to yourself. its really dumb how you talk **** but know nothing about me. some of the best racers today have been racing before they where even in high school so it shows how much you know about an 18 year old.
