Last year at the 24Hr of Daytona, I got a lead on a U.S. source for 26B's. My lead was working on a Motec tune for the importer. Alas, the name and (Florida) phone number are in a phone that is dead. It sounded like once they got the tuning issues sorted, they were going to start producing them in the U.S.
I didn't know that person before that day and have no reason to doubt him. But, he could have just as well been blowing smoke also.

Yeah, they were using RACE cars, not a street with interior and no roll cage, etc. Maybe rather than spending this money on an engine, you should use some of that money to buy a clue.

is this car going to be a daily driver or? I know with gas prices I'd rather have a motorcycle engine swapped than anything even close to a 26b nowadays, **** man, 7-800hp and only 5-6 mpg, (maybe 10 highway? lol) good luck with that. Maybe instead of saving for an engine, you could start saving for the gas it would take first, probably going to have to have a tanker truck follow you around everywhere.

Sorry. I wasn't implying 'most' top rotary drag teams use the 20b engine, just that some top rotary drag teams use it. I've seen quite a few videos of 1000+hp 20b engines in RX-7's & RX-8's. Puerto Rico seems to have quite a few...

Two random observations:

You're eighteen now. If you take that $40k and invest it in a fund returning 5% a year (which is extremely conservative), by the time you're forty it will have turned into $117k. Whereas if you invest it in a motor, it'll have turned into $0 (actually, probably negative dollars since you'll presumably want to do something with that motor besides admiring it in your living room).

$40k is also enough money to buy a well sorted Spec Miata and do at least thirty race weekends in it.

To each their own, but I find spending one's life savings on a motor a bit of a head-scratcher.

Could you do us a favor and load up the grammar shotgun and fire it at your keyboard, that way maybe some of us would have any idea what you are talking about.

Motor swaps kinda suck for anything but drag racing.... it can affect the handling characteristics of a car fairly negatively.

Just get a turbo kit for your RX-8 and that will be plenty of speed and way more hp/dollar. You could probably spend $7-8k and get 350whp.

i think you should be quite because i would like you to when i say so so dont read whatever i say unless you be quite. go to school and then learn to write properly and then you will get farther in life and then you will make more money and then you will be able to buy this engine but at all costs dont get this engine because you dont know how to write. if you have a problem reading what i am saying right now i think you have more problems than you can imagine actually i dont think you would because right now i am writing like you.
