NASA-GL offers an HPDE4 (advanced) session with rolling and standing starts, open passing no point bys. Wow, what an experience! So THIS is what the racers are all talking about:

That's awesome! That's a lot of traffic in the first part, nice work. Love the standing start.

Give Lemons/ChumpCar a try, I'm sure a team would be happy to have a driver with your speed.

Yeah racing adds a whole different level of excitement. Here's my vid from LRP a couple weeks ago. LRP is not a very fun track for DE but racing makes it a lot more ebenjoyab. The race start is always hectic. I was still on provisional license on this race, so I gotta stay out of trouble and was pretty reserved on the start. The Miatas and e30 don't care about trading paints.

I'm also way down on power for the class. i can barely keep up with the top running miata and e30 on the straights, which made it fun to try setup the pass, since i could corner faster. i would hold back so i can get a better run out of the last turn to pass them on the front straight. but i also had to keep the faster e36 in my class behind me.

From my ChumpCar race back in 2013 at Calabogie. This is about 6 hours into a 14 hour event so the field is pretty spread out, and the cars are generally well matched, so it's more about reeling the guy in over multiple laps than corner entry dive bombing. But also dive bombing. But also that's an excuse for being slow The car is a 98 Neon ACR.

my race at Pittrace. you can hear the car started to misfire towards the end of the vid and then lost power completely shortly after that.

Mid-Ohio

- Had fun chasing a Miata RF, the body-roll on ND looked crazy, his running re71 on stock suspension.

Went to Mid-Ohio for the CincySCCA event last weekend to test out the newly installed Ohlins. Chicane configuration in the morning and sports car course in the afternoon, lots of fun. Ran in novice group with an instructor, not my best attempt at all sectors for the best laps, need to improve my consistency, happy with the suspension setup.

Mods:
Progress f/r swaybars
Ohlins Road & Track
Stock size Michelin PSS
StopTech slotted rotors
Hawk HP+ pads

My only event this year, but I'm glad to be back in the saddle.

Last event I had technical difficulties (super stupid, coil wire rubbed on a metal bracket and shorted.. after having been fine in that spot for 7 years!). On top of that, that event I was running a new suspension which wasn't properly set up and I was all over the place. So I just had no confidence in the car at all.

But itsi good to be back, car performed beautifully. Some fun chases, of which this is one.

had a great race over the weekend at NJMP Thunderbolt. it was our last point race. i was 20 points in the lead going into the weekend. the mini too first and i got 2nd on saturday which brought the points to 10 in the lead. if he won on sunday, it would be a tied and it would go to who got the most win which would be him. so this on sunday determines the winner for the champion ship. it was a great race until he got black flag because his window net fell down. new motor is running strong. i can't wait for next season with racing. got one more TT event at Summit point next month.

Had some fun at Thunderhill 5 mile yesterday. RX-8 vs Corvette. Grip vs power. Couldn't quite make it stick. Not my smoothest driving, Corvettes are wide and the west side is narrow!
Had a 911 hounding me for the first few laps as well and almost get by in 1W.

@blu3dragon Man you had him at 2:04 but I get it its not Sim Racing and real rubbing hurts plus you have no clue if he's gonna be smart about it. Did you pop out of gear @ 1:05?

Yes, I was a little cautious as it was the first lap and I'd never been around the outside there... offline is dusty and less camber than the inside, plus the corvette power as soon as we straighten the wheel. I had a better chance the next lap on the inside @5:20, but without slowing I risked running the other car off the road at the exit, which gets back to your comment about real rubbing. This series follows "gentlemen's" strictly no contact rules, and we were in different classes anyway so this was about as risky as I wanted to get (I was already leading my class).

It did pop out of 3rd a few times. There's an adjustment for that on the s2 transmission which it seems I need to make.

EDIT: Just to add, boy do I wish I had made it stick on that 2nd lap though :-D

It's not exactly a track... But the Hillclimb I raced at last weekend made for a pretty entertaining video.
