Oh yeah, congrats to Iain and Tom for their 2-3 in Texas this weekend. I didn't get to watch them run, but I know their competition doesn't suck! Nice to meet you guys.
Please try not to look at my times in XP, I'm just glad I beat ST. =]

No, they weren't my 1st choice, but the contingency made me lean in that direction, now I'm regretting not going with my gut. They're full tread and I paid $1097 getting them as carryout through Costco. TireRack was over $1200. Build date is late 09, 43rd or 49th week, don't remember at the moment
$950 shipped, but I'm moving this week and the car isn't coming with me on this trip so this would need to be concluded quickly.

We had a lot of fun in STX this weekend. Great event, great courses, and great competition. It was nice that we both managed to finish in the trophies at the car's first National event. I'm just disappointed in myself that I didn't push harder on Sunday and come out on top.

FWIW, the Bridgestones oversteered on me in the dry in my initial testing. Had to remove the Whiteline rear bar and swap the OEM rear bar back in.
But, this was on a surface that I had never run my car on in STX trim, so perhaps when I'm back at Packwood the stiffer bar will go back in.
I won STX and probably will have one of the best times of the day for yesterday's event, but that's mostly conditions releated - I was in the only run group all day to get some dry runs in. Too early to say anything specific about absolute performance. Need to get some more setup in on the car and run against some top talent in Packwood.
They worked great in the rain.

I think our local region has a db meter. Post on the CCR forum to see if you can use it to test your exhaust level before the next Tour. Then you won't have to guess.
BTW- I'm getting close to buying some PSS9's or KW V3's. I'm selling some saxophone mouthpieces on the Saxontheweb forum to fund my suspension purchase. Anyone here play saxophone and want to buy some of my vintage and modern mouthpieces?

2009 Solo Nats sound logs: http://sccaforums.com/forums/storage...20Readings.pdf
George used the DaveSport cat with a RB resonator, and the highest reading he recorded was 91.8 dB. Nick ran the DaveSport cat only (no resonator added), and his highest reading was 93.7.
YMMV.

Well, it looks like I'll be getting my non-adjustable FatCat prototypes next week. Hope to get them on next weekend or the weekend after that.
24th & 25th is a Packwood event, and Shaikh is going to fly up with some extra springs to help us sort the car. After that is one more Packwood event, and then Wendover. Hoping things go well and that we are confident running the non-adjustables at Wendover.

Good luck with the prototype set-up George. Hope you guys can get the car sorted in time for Wendover!
Topgear, I have the DaveSport cat with a 12" Vibrant Resonator. My exhaust was quite loud at first but after ~600 miles of street driving and 3 autocross events, it's getting noticeably quieter.
FWIW, my 2006 RX-8 threw a check engine light yesterday (P0420). I got a local parts store to read and clear the code, and I'll see if it comes back. If it does, then I'll try a 200cpi all-metal cat next, such as the one sold by PPE Engineering:

I have no need for a Sax mouthpiece, but if you have any questions about the PSS9's, feel free to ask away in the thread over in the Suspension section...

Next time you are flipping through the Mazdaspeed accessories catalog, resist the urge to buy the Mazdaspeed billit alluminum oil cap. The thing is heavy. I'm guessing a solid 1 to 2 lbs. Not enough to slow me down, but enough to question if I really needed to spend the $28.

Haha, take that STI's! http://www.wwscc.org/event_results/2010/scca-1.html#NS5
RWD car in the rain and it's my 2nd season... If Keith hadn't coned I'd be in 6th, but he did so I took 5th, which means I trophied... even though I couldn't pick it up that day Next event they'll have our 2010 Trophies anyway which are apparently no longer the pint glasses.
