That's what flags are for. Or pre-briefed passing areas. Or point-bys. Or a proper forced pass. Whatever the rules at that track on that day were, those are the only rules that matter. So what were they @Diyman25 ?

Taiwan track day is pretty premature
So corner worker have no blue flag
Only 1-2 track day organizations can grid by lap time
Rest of club , just throw every one in same time

This is one of them , let's why I try to enter track first avoid run into to novice , in the video that is after I clock my best lap , since i am using tire is more then 5 heat cycle I decide to slow down to see what kind of car I can film for fun
That is the only reason those civic can caught up if I am doing my normal pace they will never run into my car

As passing rule , is very grey area over here
Because club don't grid driver by experience
All skill level is in same group i remember
There is Audi TCR In same group too
So is difficult to say

If this is time trial who is keeping time? Are there transponders? Does his offroading disqualify his lap?

 

If I want to use fresh tire to do some decent time , I will not run with this club . I am expecting i run into some novice and some reckless driver
But never expect this kind of level

And since this Lihpao race track is FIA certified track
The track had magnetic wire all over the course
So can instantly know who run over course

 

Well proper track etiquette you should have given him a point by. He was behind you for a decent amount of time. Now if you were faster he would return the favor realizing the first civic got him to you. Now not saying he didn’t do something stupid also. He should have been black flagged and talked to. But it shouldn’t take a blue flag for you to know to move. Sometimes it takes going off line and slowing down so car of same hp can get by. That way even if your not doing point by style passing he knows what to do and you don’t hood him up.
