Kinda blurry, but here are a few from ice racing time trials:

 

What type of racing is that?

 

It was kinda like an autocross on ice - they had a course set up with cones on a lake & you did timed runs. It was the first time I had gone to an event like this and it was a blast.

Most cars had just winter/snow tires on, but there was a class for studded tires as well... pretty amazing how fast the cars with the studded tires could go on ice

 

Look like fun

 

How in the eff did you manage that much body lean on ice? On my snow tires I get .0001g of lateral grip.

 

I wouldnt call this race trim but this **** happened to me last night in the snow some idion came downt the icy hill wayy to fast a locked up the wheels and plowed into me then they hit a mailbox and went into a ditch

There were some cars running studded tires that really tore up the ice & gave it a decent amount of grip. That run I was the 1st one out after quite a few had rouged the ice up a bit, but I think it may just be the camera angle that makes it look like its leaning

Cold is dumb... and slow, and often sideways

 

Few from last weekend (yeah, not all are rx-8s but there was one there on studs so bite me). Also, after a while (few events, heats) the ice isn't exactly table-top smooth.
