I find it funny that when oil goes up, the gas prices respond immediately. Now that oil is half of what it was in the summer, we see a 15-25% decrease in price here in the Windy City. Windy because all the damn corrupt politicians are lying on their backs blowing at that feather till their faces are purple. The higher the gas prices are, the more taxes they make.

Less than two means one left. Besides the thread was started after the demise of the original SSR Comp - the 16lb one.

Boy, someone is grouchy now that they have been officially owned for the season. Twice.

Perhaps they went on sale because of the fact that there is only one left, Chris. Besides, don't you have enough wheels already?

I only have two sets of wheels and a set of rains.

You may have won in TSSCC by .17 , not quite owned, but you haven't won SCCA.

Yes, I have! Even without the help of Chris Harvey. BTW Chris H, you came on the wrong day. The new sway bar was put on for Sunday and it made a world of difference. I would have liked to seen how close we could have gotten to you on Sunday. I am sure that we would still have been behind but the car is finally rotating properly.

As for the other Chris, I thought that this thread was supposed to be about light wheels for BS cars!

Ohhh....so lack of rotation was the issue on Saturday ? I have the solution for you. Just run 80+ run, 2 year old A6's on the back...works like a charm in the high speed, offset stuff

Wish I could have stuck around for Sunday...had a great time once again with the Chi-town crew !

Lack of rotation, loose nut behind the wheel, etc. etc. We did cord a set on Sunday but that was because we couldn't count past 20 runs without getting naked. Should have flipped the tires before this weekend. We still had plenty of grip, more than it looked like your tires had. I will try to keep your recommendation in mind but I think I prefer the sway bar, instead.

Glad you came up. Wish you could have stayed all weekend. Hopefully we will see you around much more next year.

Back to wheels. Any updates on the new OZ's?

If anyone in the Chicago area needs some lightweight wheels, I'm selling a set of used SSR GT2's for $600.

BS wheels thread, resurrected again

Okay, two years later and the two main options at Tire Rack are:

OZ Alleggerita, 17.4 pounds, $400-440 (one person reported that the wheels received were tagged at 16.5 and 17.0 pounds by the manufacturer)
Enkei PF01, 18.0 pounds, $300

Those are the Tire Rack listed weights for the wheels. Has anyone weighed either wheel?

Just ordered a set of Alleggeritas -- will let y'all know what they weigh with 245/40-18 Dunlops mounted. If anyone knows what a 245/40-18 Dunlop weighs, let me know. Otherwise I won't be able to find the weight of the Alleggeritas until the Dunlops wear out -- probably 2 years from now!

New CS Light Wheels Thread

Update: the wheels arrived. Again, these are the OZ Alleggerita HLT 18x8 +48mm with Dunlop Z1* 245/40-18 tires mounted and pressure sensors installed.

Each one had a tag from OZ stating the weight. They were: 17.129#, 17.185#, 17.185#, and 17.251#.

On the digital scale with 0.2 pound resolution, each wheel with tire and sensor weighed 44.6 pounds.

The stock series 2 wheels with stock tires (Dunlop SP 2050 225/45-18) & sensors, with 8000 miles of wear, weighed 49.0 pounds each.

If you're curious how they look on the car, I posted a photo over in the S2 tires & wheels "aftermarket wheels" thread.
