If i can remember 03-05 don't have a weight sensor and 06 and up do have one, there's that little circle near the glove box that has a light that says no air bag when it's lit up and when it's not, it's activated. im getting new bucket seats should be coming in before jan 3rd. just need to see how i can fool the sensor thinking that someone is always there and the air bag being on at all times. Hmm ( anybody else can help me out here?? :/

ah that's why, mine is an '05

looks like there are two; one on each passenger rail and a control module in there too

They sensors bolt between the seat and the floor at the front of the rails. The parts manual only shows one though, so you might want to verify that there are two of them. Pretty expensive too. You may be able to figure out the resistance values or maybe just have them all hooked up, but tied down separate. You will lose that function though. I will post some more info later.

All good, so i checked my seat status should be coming in tommorow, i also ordered resistors 1/2 watt 2ohms, since my local radio shack doesn't carry any :/

the weight sensors are more or less a strain gauge device.

you will need to figure out a corresponding resistor to get the output voltage in a range that the system is looking for, measuring the input and output voltages should be easy, from there you can determine a resistance value

however, you may be able to incorporate the sensors into an aftermarket seat since they are bolted between the rail and the front mounting feet

to some degree you will need to inspect the OE seat and clarify what is actually there

Been there and done that, its a bit of a job and you will pretty much destroy the lower seat structure in the process so you can pretty much write off the OE seats to accomplish it that way, unfortunately Mazda wants a small fortune for the parts so you take a hit either way
