What are your thoughts on additional under body braces.

We run some robust roll pages per the various racing sanctioning bodies that require them (SCCA, NASA, Grand-Am......) and therefore have stiff(er) chassis then the street cars obviously. Depending upon which racing rule set you subscribe too you are not allowed additional bracing.

Have no experience on this subject. We've seen nothing when running a full roll cage that would suggest there is a defeccientcy that requires subframe bracing. The less flex you have in a chassis the better so I would think these products are more helpful than not----my .02

There is a big aftermarket of these products for the Ford Mustang and I know some engineers that believe they are very functional for these type of cars.

The last portion - "these type of cars" - you mean the type of cars such as the Mustang, correct? I just want to be sure I'm reading it right.

That way the RX-8 has been described, I understand it has a very rigid body for a car of it's type. You did not feel any appreciable improvement from adding the roll cage?

Under-body bracing would have a different effect compared to a roll cage though, right? They affect different portions of the car, the portions they tie together, anyways.

Have you been to Brainerd International Raceway in MN? Turn 1 on the old/long track it flat out after a 1 mile straight. So you could be at top speed going thru the banked turn 1. Turn 2 is also fast. i have not idea what that would mean in your car - i go thru at 115 being cautious. It is not banked.

The track has been updated and is now getting racing series back. Kieth Code wrote in A Twist of the Wrist 2 that Brainerd is his fav track!

If you are ever up here, let me know. I will be there to see you win!
