Concrete vs Asphalt Autox

Quick question for those more experienced. My rx8 feels like it plows a lot more on concrete than it does on asphalt. My previous s2k that I used to autocross didn't feel like this on concrete. Am I imagining this? Does anyone else have the same experience? If so, do you change tire pressures or shock settings for concrete? Thanks!

I'm sure there's differences in grip levels between the two but there are also many other variables. Things like age of the surface, how well it has been maintained, subtype within each category, whether or not there is direct sunlight, etc all make a difference as well.

I would also throw in there driving style. Going from the S2000, which is prone to oversteer, then to the RX8, which is prone to understeer, might be part of the problem. Maybe you learned you could push it more in the s2000 on concrete because it would oversteer less. Driving the RX8 in the same way as an s2000 would contribute to understeer I would think, but that is just my amateurish opinion.

I get the same thing... In Atwater at the tour I added 4 psi to the rear tires to help free it up.

p.s. this is not the right way to fix it, this is just a quick way to work around the issue if you do not run on concrete very often. It can also lead to snap oversteer.

So, what might be a better way to fix it?
