AutoX vs. Road Course Days
This is a comparision.
AutoX:
$30.00+ 3 runs minimum per SCCA rules, usually less than 60 seconds.
Road Course:
$250 for two days. 4 x 30 min run sessions each day.
COST PER MINUTE:
AutoX:
$10/min + you have to work for a run group
Road Course:
$1.00/min + you do NOT have to work.
I'm a road course ***** myself, and I do enjoy getting out to the local AutoX every now and then. This was brought up by a friend that literally dragged to a road course, and he'll still do autox, but the best value is the road course.
What do you all think?

I think if I could do both I would, but I have only found autox down ehre in Miami. If I am willing to drive 5 hours I can get into some more stuff, but 5 hours each way just to race for a little longer aint worth it.

Road courses rule! Auto X is not for me, I like the bigger faster turns with some good straights to get a good honk on. Nothing better than chasing down some Vette or WRX and making him pull over on the straight for you. I can't wait to get my car to Streets of Willow or Buttonwillow. Of course Laguna Seca is Nirvana.

If I could afford to do more track days, I would. Trouble is, the wife has developed a taste for them too, so if one of us goes, we both go. Which makes it a $500 weekend, hence we don't do 'em too often.

The only track in Saskatoon is a circle track for the local CASCAR racers. That being said, our autocross is very cheap. Membership is $50, which includes membership to the WCMA. Every event is $10 for members and you get four timed runs and as many fun runs as you can cram in. We have a very large surface too, so our courses tend to the 60-90 second range.

Trackdays are great but they really beat the hell out of your car compared to autox. Most people in autox get in second gear and stay there (deoending on the car), so in the long run I think track days are far more expensive overall, but also a lot more fun

OH, and did I mention that I was 3 seconds behind a very modded WRX on slicks, with a known good driver?
I also put my stock rims/tires on before the event and never changed them to the 245's. So basically my car was 100% stock.
Only 3 seconds? LOL
