Anybody had any experience with P-Zero corsa's ? At $133.00 each I thought they would make good autox tires. The cheap price is for 265-35-18. That's pretty closy to Typror's Hoosier's and a whole lot less expensive.

In all of the searching I did on that tire when it first came to our shores, most people are using them for track days especially in Europe. I've read they take a while to get up to temperature so they might not be a good auto-x tire. That being said, I have no first hand knowledge of the tire.

Dual-use street / track tires in the same vein as the Yokohama A032Rs. They'll be quicker than a pure street tire, but you'll be eaten alive by anyone on real R-compounds like Hoosiers or Kumho V710s.

Yeah, But being on a budget plus having two 8's to feed, I thought these might be close. All of the reviews seem to indicate that they are almost as good as the Hoosiers. Plus they are cheaper.

Depends on what you're buying them for. If you're just fooling around at local events or track days, they should be a great choice -- I'm thinking of getting a set too at that price. They're just not as good a choice if that last second really matters. All a question of where your priorities lie...

ive had good experiences with the kumho ecsta V700 on my regular autocross car. they arent as fast as a hoosier or V710 but they last pretty well and work well cold. the kumho victoracer V700 is also good and may last a little longer, but likes higher temps so you would want a co-driver.

Ecsta V700 may be an okay tire on a light car but it just does not work in my experience on heavier cars.

Only caveat is that they put power down well, they just don't corner, especially on camber challenged cars. Have heard of people running Ecsta rears and Hoosier fronts with good results (on a RWD car).

Grapevine suggests that there are going to be some improvements to the Avon meats this year and that Goodyear is re-entering the R-comp fray. So it should be interesting.

I think I am going to try the corsa for a while. I am running about 1-1.5 secs behind the leaders in B-stock on our poor crumbling racing surface.

The leaders are running Hoosiers and I am running stock 040s.

I figure I can catch them and be competitive with the Pirellis. Avons cou!d be interesting as well. I thought these tires could competitive w/o breaking the bank.

What do you guys believe is the best setup for this car in a road race event as far as the tire size? 17 or 18"?? 245 all around or staggered 245 / 275 setup? maybe 255 all the way around. What are you guys using?

I am considering getting some RA1's for road racing and want to know what the best setup will be...

I am by no means an expert, especially having just returned to autox after a 25 year absence however, IMHO a staggered setup doesn't seem right. If you are "track road racing" I think the tire/wheel setup is going to be more dependant on your other suspension mods.

FWIW some of the guys are running 275/35/18 Hoosiers all the way around w/o any clearance problems. I am going to try 265/35/18 Pirelli's all of the way around. My rusty skills have got me "close" to my local competition and I am not ready to spend double the money for a .5 second advantage tires (according to "some" tests).

If I was doing nationals or seriously competing in regionals, Hoosiers make sense. I am having FUN and getting to remember why I autox'd so many years earlier. I also want to keep it fun. :D :D I went down the modified path before and it became a hole to throw money in.
I am going to try it stock for a while.
