LOL...just read this again I tipped the car off the jack and caught the arm with the jack underneath it.... was no small wonder the arm bent

Wasn't one of my smarter moves

been doing research on heim joints for a bit now, too. general consensus is that YES the drive will be noticeably rougher and i will have more suspension noise, the joints are in fact durable especially if you keep an eye on maintaining them. additionally, there are products you can buy that act as debris shields for these joints.

Most of the issues with these joints arise when you have them used on roads where corrosive substances are applied (salt on roads for example, there are many other cases). I will never encounter these conditions. Also, these joints see the most wear and tear when they have to rotate in multiple axis. due to our rear suspension design, the heim joint would simply be load bearing and rotate on a single plane/axis just as the stock arm does.

the fact i can later on replace the heim joint in the megan arms with much higher quality when its time to do so makes me pretty confident in the purchase. not to mention i only put about 7,000 miles a year on my car. ill be just fine and report as time goes by on condition just for everyone here

The only real to maintain that style heim joint is to replace it

Those covers i mentioned helped protect from debris making them wear even more prematurely, andive read that for non-teflon coated heim's that graphite lube can help extend life and is "safe" due to being a dry lubricant. Once they wear out of course i would purchase some quality replacement joints.

How did you bend your arm? It takes a decent amount of force to bend an arm like hitting a curb

I have the megan rear camber and rear toe. i have easily 20k on them. i have no signs of being bent, or falling apart or loose ends. I drive on normal everyday roads, and dont road race with my car :shrugs:

haha no your experience far exceeds mine. i was simply stating observations of mine, excuse the misunderstanding there please.

also... i made a world of mistakes last night involving buying things online in my sleep (no lie. fell asleep with my laptop next to me.. i must have been straight zombie-mode and got back on there and bought camber arms, and 11 pairs of 194 leds.. seller cant issue refund as item already shipped...so looks like ill be selling some 194 smd leds for corner markers pretty soon to make up for money spent from putting 11 instead of 1)

daily driven, never tracked. had about -6 Degrees of chamber. only had 2k miles on them. bent because it couldn't handle my aftermarket whitelines sways. where it is connects to the sways endlink is where it bent. quiet disappointed.

I'll have to go under and really focus and see if its bent. But from what I have seen they are notI have coilovers, agency power end links and sway bars. So suspension is fairly stiff.

just dont worry about megan racing. i thought itd keep me by. but they totally wasn't worth the money. either way, even if you aren't supporting anything fancy. because of the performance and lack of durability. they aren't worth the money. better to get a same price with custom arms. best way to go with rx8s with lack of arms in the market.
