UK VIP Inspired RX8 Build
Just bought my RX8 231
Plans are some new wheels, New backbox or full system, some Coilys,
Just getting used to the FMR setup. Love the Rotary Power 9500 Rpm is awesome!
Heres a pic then some specs,
Standard Wheel Specs,
Rims - OEM RX8 5 spoke, 18*8j et50
Tyre - Bridgestone Potenza 225/40/18
The wheel and tyre setup seems pretty stable, although the back can skip a little on launch, a staggered setup should improve this.
Proposed future set up
Rims - Front, 19*8.5j, Rear 19*9.5j
Tyre - Front, 225/35/19 Rear 255/35/19 probably Nitto or Toyo
First few things to car, gave it a good clean and Valet Both the exhaust pipes were filthy,
Although they cleaned up well, I think I'll be looking for a new backbox, with 4" pipes rather than the standard 2.5"
Have a quick look at my blog for more pics.

Fair sized update on the RX8,
Got Some new shoes, Fates in 8j and 9.5j flavour et35.
Wearing bridgestone potenza 225/40/18s
offest and width work pretty well. maybe some spacers but unsure.
Coilovers are next to sort the arch gap but before that;
I've bought and fitted a ToyoSport CatBack exhaust, which gives a pretty good tone all the way through the rev range, (sports cat soon?)
The car is currently in the bodyshop getting smoothed rear and front, So no badges all round. not many RX8's with this done i think.
Some pics of the wheels and the exhaust, iPhone quality sorry.
HQ pics will be shot when car is back from paint shop ^_^

Car is back from bodyshop with front and rear badges smoothed out and a full machine polish,
I love the look of the car now, just need to get it lowered!
Decat has been ordered, Coilovers next. anyway heres the pics and a short video clip.

Also here is a quick photoshop of how the car should look dropped.

Not feeling the rim/tire setup. Why stagger the rims, but have same size tire all 'round? Stretched look in back but not in front? I mean, if you like the stretched tire/VIP look you should have gotten 9.5" in front too.
Other than that it's looking good. You chose the right color!

Nice ride, the wheels are different but to each his own. I am debadged in the front and love it. Next up for you is a subtle kit. FYI, I am staggered and running 245/40's all around.

I guess I applaud you on trying to be different, but those wheels just look clunky on that car imho lose those wheels stat you could get some big 20" rims that would fit your VIP idea and look infinitely better on the car... those look like they belong on an FJ or a hummer, or maybe a big s class benz but god not on an 8.

Not a fan...... Kudos for doing you and not paying attention to haters though.
Cant judge a project halfway through completion so Ill reserve further comments until its done.
