got blewed up huh..

The whole DIY takes less than 30 minutes and 20 bucks or so to do, and some people have felt improvements afterwards (like me), so it doesn't hurt to take some precautions.. If you feel like it's a waste of time, then don't do it

Yes, his engine failure is one of the most infamous. Because he wasn't the typical rx8 driver, knew what he was doing, performed all the rx8club recommended maintenance. And yet, did no good in the end.

so we should just stop doing all preventative maintenance...
his engine failed, big F'in deal, that doesn't mean seafoam doesn't work and shouldn't be done to help the rotary engine.

how do you know it 'did no good in the end'? Don't say becaues it failed...
what's to say it wouldn't have failed SOONER had he not done what he did.

Basically, some of these things such as premix, seafoam, redline, aren't going to make a big deal in the end.

If your Renesis was assembled with care and quality, it is headed to 200,000 and beyond whether it is driven by a seafoamer+premixer, or a typical non-rx8clubber.

If, on the other hand, your Renesis was assembled by a hungover bastard, as in the case of nycaps, you're going to be screwed no matter what.

That's what it is going to boil down to. That's what it has always boiled down to, such as in the case of an old lady with an 800,000 original engine.
