Seafoamed!

Been having a stumble under load while low in the rpm, and decided to seafoam it since I was problem solving. Everyone loves vids, sorry they are small and sucky, but you get the picture.

Part 1
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ffSDy4D-zg

Part 2
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A7I-Qjjq8wI

Too bad the stumble is still there. Anyone who wants to help, please view https://www.rx8club.com/rx-8-discussion-3/stumble-miss-low-rpm-lugging-171333/

This probably wouldn't HURT a rotary, however I wouldn't have seen it doing any good though. Problem solving is problem solving I guess...you had to try something... Ohh well

Lots of people have done it with positive results. I wasn't even going to do it until I started reading on the forums. and Mazda actually has a "zoom zoom" cleaner which is used the same way, and I followed the Mazda procedure for it. So yes its ok.

Yup. Mazda's zoom zoom engine cleaner IS seafoam.

Of course, if your engine is so filled with carbon deposits that you need it, the damage may already be done, but I know people have used it with excellent results.

He believes a Mazda Tech

Zoom Power Clean by Mazda, I believe does the similiar things that seafoam does. They probably have similiar active ingredients. But if Zoom Power Clean was seafoam you'd get white smoke no matter what the result is.

When I did my Zoom Power Clean I had no smoke what so ever. Had I done seafoam, I would have had a street full of it.(Cops woulda been called whole shabang)

Mazda Zoom Power Cleaner
-If there is white smoke, there was a carbon build up.

Search the DIY on How to Zoom Power Clean.

Towards the end Wayne Mazda Technician Kevin (teknics on RX8CLUB) explains it. He is certified

I wasn't sure if I NEEDED it, but thought it couldn't hurt. Turns out I found some tracking on the bottoms of my coils, so its time for new coils. 61k on stock coils, I'm lucky.

I did the ZOOM POWER myself last week.... didnt have the big puff of smoke....but my car is running a lot better, idle is stable and smooth sailing

although, the continuous cranking killed my battery, but oddly enough the dealer replaced it under warranty YAY!!!!!!!

Probably, the lack of lubrication situation created, offsets any potential benefit from removing minute carbon traces, in the overall scheme of things.
